CHAPTER 22 Monday morning, after a light breakfast, Wayde reviewed his notes. Following his talk with the senator, he felt it was important he meets with Dr. Rhineman’s secretary, Jean Walker. Finding her name in the telephone book, he dialed the number. She invited him over. Thirty minutes later, he parked in front of a modest home in Oakland Park. He rang the doorbell, and she escorted him into the living room. It was what he’d expected—tan-painted walls with dark brown draperies covering the two windows, a chocolate-colored microfiber sofa and matching recliner chair sitting on a light brown, short-napped nylon carpet.
