The next morning, Wayde called Lieutenant Kelly, and they agreed to meet for breakfast at Denny’s restaurant on Commercial Boulevard.
Kelly was already sitting at a table when Wayde arrived. He saw the lieutenant waving and joined him. “Thanks for meeting me, Kelly; I wanted to know how it went with Nora Rodgers.”
“She was glad we finally came by to see her house, but she wasn’t very talkative.”
A waitress came to the table, and both ordered coffee and the “morning special.”
“What’s your opinion? You think someone searched her house or did she make it look that way?”
“Hard to tell, Wayde, but I think someone else did it.”
“That’s interesting. In my book, Nora’s a prime suspect in these murders.”
“I know. You’ve said that before, but why?”
