Later that evening, Wayde drove to the Jewel Box Club and entered.
Music was playing from huge speakers, and a female impersonator was performing on the full stage. Wayde watched the act as he sat down at the glass-topped bar located in the back of the large, gaudily decorated room.
The Jewel Box was well-known and a favorite hangout for local gays and lesbians. However, lately, the entertainment caught on with the young club set, as the professional drag queens performed on a high level. They put on a great show, as they were very talented, and most were quite stunning.
