A maniacal laugh echoed across the field. Keanu stood behind her, his figure revealed as Rain fell. A shiny weapon clutched in his hand, covered now with that familiar red.
Orion roared, fiercer than she'd ever heard him.
He dove over her body and onto Keanu. Rain heard his distant screams, the crunch of his bones and legs as he gurgled on his own blood. Then his scream cut off, and everything fell silent.
Rain collapsed to her elbows, gasping as she lost all feeling in her legs. She fell to her side, her legs no longer able to hold her up.
The shock didn't register the pain as she repeated in her head 'I've been stabbed, I've been stabbed, I've been stabbed.
Nothing was working anymore. She didn't understand.
A stab wound wouldn't kill a normal wolf.
