I was watching Zoro and Mihawk training… well by watching I mean reading until I eventually looked up to examine Zoro’s fighting skills - see if he has changed since the last time we trained, of course back then I had to keep a low profile and let him win however I wasn’t 100% if I could beat him but after watching a few minutes, I knew I could.
Their swords clashed and I saw mistakes Zoro was making, his shoulder was dropped, his stance on one side and he wasn’t using the environment around him, he was focused on using his strength but unfortunately for him, sword fighting isn’t all about strength.
“Zoro, your shoulder.” I spoke trying to get him to realise what he’s doing wrong, unfortunately being the hotheaded type of guy that he’s always been he didn’t take nicely to my critiques.
“What would you know? you’re just a housewife who can’t defend herself”
I could see Mihawk raise an eyebrow before laughing at Zoro’s insult, he knew fine my techniques and swordsmanship but I didn’t let Zoro’s words effect me, he just doesn’t know how strong I actually am.
“You also need to work on your surroundings, use it to your benefit”
Zoro rolled his eyes before lifting his blade towards me in a challenge which I gladly accepted, time to put the hothead in his place. As I approached, Mihawk gave me a nod, telling me to show him my true colours as he sat down to watch.
At first our swords were clashing left and right blocking and striking until I went for his legs sweeping them so he’d fall onto his ass before taking a step back.
“Get up” I said, Zoro looked stunned to start with before jumping back to his feet looking determined.
“Fine I won’t go easy on—“
Again I knocked him to the ground, he was getting more frustrated, immediately jumping to his feet and attacking me which I easily blocked, hitting his sword away before elbowing him in the ribs.
“Shoulder” I spoke again before attacking him from behind which he managed to block, this time my eyes moved around my surrounding area so when Zoro swung for me I could use it to my advantage, dodging so his sword would hit the tree before I knocked his legs once more. I could see he hated the fact I kept knocking him back down on his ass.
This time he came at me in a blind rage striking over and over and over.
“Letting your anger out makes you get sloppy, keep calm and for f**k sake Zoro sort your shoulder!” I kicked him in the stomach making him fall onto his back, as my blade rested at his neck I could hear clapping turning my head I see Mihawk who seemed quite impressed.
“Seems like Sienna could teach you quite a few things”
Zoro immediately got up letting out a huff of frustration
“She’s a girl she can’t teach me anything”
“Well this girl just beat your ass!” I fired back with narrowed eyes.
Before Zoro could fire back, Mihawk’s voice echoed through the island
“ENOUGH!”
We both went silent as if we were kids being scolded…
“Sienna will teach you about using the environment as a weapon after all… swordsmanship isn’t always about strength”
With that Mihawk walked away leaving me and the green haired hothead alone. I turned to him with a devilish grin
“Wanna try fighting, blind?”
My eyes went red for a moment until Zoro immediately shook his head
“DONT YOU DARE!”
“Tell you what, once you learn how to fight my way I’ll let you show me how to fight with three swords, deal?”
He smirked at that idea, looks like me and Zoro better get started…
