Chapter 3: The Stranger’s Call

209 Words
Chapter 3 focuses on the mysterious messages and calls that Daniel Reed starts receiving. Just as Daniel is trying to stay calm, he receives a chilling text: "I know what you did." This sends him into a panic—someone knows about the murder. He frantically replies, but the sender remains anonymous. Then, his phone rings. A distorted voice taunts him, saying they know where the body is. The call ends abruptly, leaving Daniel in a state of dread. His paranoia deepens as he realizes he's being watched, and whoever this person is, they aren’t done with him yet. That evening, as Daniel sat in the dark, his phone buzzed. A message flashed on the screen: "I know what you did." Daniel’s breath caught in his throat. His fingers hovered over the screen. Who could it be? Who had seen? He typed back. "Who is this?" No response. His phone rang. He hesitated before answering. "Hello?" A deep, distorted voice spoke. "You left a mess, Daniel." Daniel’s grip tightened. "Who are you?" Silence. Then, a chilling chuckle. "That doesn’t matter. What matters is… I know where the body is." The call disconnected. Daniel’s entire body stiffened. Someone knew. Someone had been watching. And they weren’t done with him yet.
