CHAPTER 19

Mana simply watched as her brother took his seat at one of the throne-like chairs, whilst she sat on the table, her Yatagarasu stabbing the bone-like floor. Her gaze would shift to Kisame and Madara, not once did she let her guard down when she was with them.

“Taka’s mission is to destroy Konoha.” Sasuke said.

Mana’s hold on Yatagarasu tightened.

Is this even what you want? She asked herself.

“You can say it all you want, but how do you plan on accomplishing that?” Madara asked.

“My target are the Elders, I couldn’t care less of the others.” Sasuke replied.

“If you target a king.” Mana began, remembering her training with Shuuya. “His soldiers will be there to defend him.”

“The kid is right.” Kisame said. “Don’t expect it to be easy. Plus, your little ‘Taka’ group doesn’t seem strong enough anyway.”

“Kisame-senpai, I wouldn’t underestimate us if I were you.” Suigetsu smirked. “Our little game from before still isn’t finished…” Suigetsu went to attack Kisame, his sword in hand, about to chop off Kisame, but his attack was blocked by Madara’s fist colliding with the blade.

“Sasuke! Teach your men some discipline!” Madara said.

“Suigetsu, this isn’t the time!” Karin said.

“My only goal is getting that Samehada!” Suigetsu said. “The only reason why I went with Sasuke was to get it!”

“Sasuke, what are you gonna do?” Juugo asked.

“Fine, do what you want, Suigetsu, you could’t beat him yet anyway.” Sasuke said.

“But, just you wait. One of these days, I’ll definitley treat you to some delicious shark fin soup!” Suigetsu said. He retracted his blade and went back to his place.

“Akatsuki’s also lacking in manpower as of now, so let us refrain from any unnecessary skirmishes.” Madara said. “Taka will cooperate with Akatsuki from now on.”

“And what will we get in return?” Sasuke asked.

“We’ll share the Bijuu.”

“Bijuu?” Sasuke asked.

“You know nothing about it?”

“They’re Chakra Monsters…” Mana answered. Gaining a look from her brother.

“Your Imouto is right.” Madara said. “The First Hokage used to have several of them under his control. But the First Hokage shared them to the other nations as a peace treaty. It was his way of stabilizing the power balance between the Five Great Nations. You could call them the ultimate chakra weapons. Not a bad deal, yes?”

“How generous of you.” Sasuke said.

“But, if you betray Akatsuki, I’ll have you killed.” Kisame said. “There is a total of nine Bijuu in the world. Akatsuki already has six of them, but there’s still three left.”

“Akatsuki and Taka will spilt to look for the other three.” Madara said.

“You still haven’t obtained the Kyuubi, correct?” Sasuke said, a knowing smirk on his lips.

Mana slightly turned to her brother, knowing who he had in his mind.

“Taka will capture the Hachibi. Akatsuki will handle the rest.” Madara said. “And that includes Naruto.”

Mana have never seen someone like the Jinchuriki of the Hachibi. He was what she would call ‘weird’. He was a free-spirit as she would put it, who only cared about his rhymes and – bad – rapping. As much as she didn’t like this mission, her dislike for the Jinchuriki’s blabbering mouth was greater, and she just wanted to silence him with one blow.

“Suigetsu, on my right. Juugo, on my left. Karin, behind me. Mana…”

Mana waited for her brother’s orders.

“Stay put.”

“What?!” Mana said. “Onii-san –”

“Do as I say.” Sasuke ordered, his eyes glaring at her.

Mana glared at her brother, but nonetheless, she stood back, behind Karin. Her hand on Yatagarasu when needed.

Suigetsu’s and Juugo’s attacks were petty to the Hachibi Jinchuriki. Mana saw how he wielded Suigetsu’s sword as if it were his own, and she saw how he took down Juugo as if he weighed nothing. When it was Sasuke’s turn to attack, Mana had one expectation. To fail. It was obvious that the Jinchuriki was very much powerful than he was, especially when he got out his eight swords and started the ‘real’ fight.

“Do something!” Karin yelled at Mana.

Mana didn’t need to be asked. The moment she saw Sasuke stabbed by the Jinchuriki’s many swords, she already had Yatagarasu and was running to the battle scene. She blocked the sword that was coming at Sasuke had Juugo push the man down with his ability.

“Chibi, are you okay?” Suigetsu asked.

“Hai.” Mana said. “This isn’t a normal fight, individual attacks would just get us killed!”

“Hai.” Suigetsu said. “We need to attack him head on. The three of us!”

With Sasuke recovered, he pushed Mana away and joined Suigetsu and Juugo with their attack. Their sycronization was still no match for the Jinchuriki. But when Suigetsu trapped the Jinchuriki in his body and had Sasuke electricute them with his Chidori, she knew that he was willing to even hurt his teammates just to finish this mission. Juugo came from above and did a hard blow, creating a crator, but the Jinchuriki was gone.

Where did he go?! Mana thought. She looked around, searching for the man, and found him at a mountain with the same chakra she saw Naruto had covering his body.

“I FOUND HIM!” Mana said. Giving herself a boost with her Dark Chakra, Mana went flying towards the man.

“MANA!” Sasuke called after her, and followed.

Black tattoo-liked crawled over her skin from the Natsukasa mark; it was the chakra she’s been saving up for the seal’s use. She directed her chakra to Yatagarasu, the Dark Chakra created a blade much bigger than it usually is. The Jinchuriki came at her with his power –

“KARITORI-GATANA!”

Just as Yatagarasu were to slice the Jinchuriki, the man somehow teleported out of the way. Mana, with wide eyes, found herself headed to a mountain, her eyes glanced behind her and saw the Jinchuriki headed to where Suigetsu, Juugo and Karin were.

SHIT, HE’S HEADING TOWARDS THEM!

Sasuke, who saw the the Jinchuriki’s motives, turned back for his teammates. He landed at the ground and saw Juugo and Karin.

“Are you alright?” he asked.

“Yeah, somehow.” Karin said.

“Where’s Mana?” Juugo asked.

Turning, Sasuke saw Mana’s attack hit the mountain, taking off a chunk, and she crashed to the mountain.

“MANA!” Sasuke called out.

NO! NO!

“Sasuke, I could still sense her chakra, she’s fine!” Karin said.

Some form of relief came to him, but he knew that he would only be at peace if he saw it for himself. But first, he needed to take care of the Jinchuriki.

“Karin! I need you to feel out his chakra and predict his attacks!” Sasuke demanded.

“THAT IS IF YOU COULD ONLY MAKE IT IN TIME!”

Mana felt a huge headache. She felt every bone of her body crushed and slowly mending. Beside her, Yatagarasu was stabbed to the mountain. From the battle, she heard Karin’s cry for Sasuke. She moved her head to see. Sasuke was thrown back the Jinchuriki’s attack, blood coming out of his chest, and Juugo came to his rescue.

Fuck! She thought. I have to move! Heal faster! Please!

“I’m a Jinchuriki and my true form’s a monster, so check out my Host Transformation, yeah!”

Before their eyes, a giant eight-tailed octopus-bull appeared. Stuck at their place, Juugo and Karin didn’t know what to do, how could they move when Sasuke was still injured? A gigantic water monster came from the waters, inside was Suigetsu controlling it.

“GET OUT OF HERE NOW!” He called out.

With Sasuke recovered, Juugo and Karin took him and ran.

“Here I go again, sacrificing myself to save them.” Suigetsu muttered.

“YOU THINK YOU COULD GET AWAY?!” The Hachibi said. He formed some kind of chakra ball at his mouth and blasted it at Suigetsu.

“SUIGETSU!” Mana cried out as she came with Yatagarasu. “KARITORI-GATANA: CHIDORI NAGASHI!”

The huge Dark Chakra blade that had Chidori running through it its blade, sliced through a couple of the beast’s tentacles. The Jinchuriki let out a scream of pain as it was decapitated and electricuted by the Chidori.

Mana landed where Sasuke and the others were, she stood before them with Yatagarasu still aimed at the beast.

“Suigetsu is all messed up.” Karin said.

“Onii-san! Get out of here!” Mana yelled.

Sasuke was in a daze, his eyes were frozen at Mana.

“KARIN, TAKE HIM AND LEAVE! I’LL BE FINE!”

“I’m not leaving you!” Sasuke argued.

“YOU’RE ALL RUNNING OUT OF CHAKRA, IF YOU STAY YOU’LL DIE! NOW GO!” Mana commanded.

The Jinchuriki got up, he still had the energy to fight. His tentacles came at them.

Mana activated her Mangekyou Sharingan to teleport them out of the place –

AMATERASU!

Black flames ate the Hachibi. It tried get it out when it went to the water, but the flames did not die. It couldn’t. It was impossible.

Turning to Sasuke, Mana saw him use his Mangekyou Sharingan to its full extent. Blood was coming from his eye-socket.

“STOP!” Mana told him. “YOU’RE OVER USING IT!”

One of the beasts tentacles came at them. Karin pushed them all away, whilst Mana jumped back, leaving the woman behind. But when one of the tentacles came down, and Karin was taken by the black flames.

“It’s too late! Let’s get out of here before it gets to us as well!” Juugo said.

“Wait!” Sasuke said. He once again activated his Mangekyou Sharingan and opened his right eye, it focused on the black flames on Karin, and slowly, he was able to extinguish the flames.

“Juugo, get Karin.”

With Karin in Juugo’s arms, Mana grabbed Sasuke’s arm.

“We have her, let’s go!” She said.

“WAIT!” He said as he held on to his head, covering his eyes. Mana knew that it was for using it too much.

“STOP, YOU’RE OVER USING YOUR EYES, LET’S LEAVE!” Mana said.

Knowing that Sasuke wouldn’t listen, Mana activated her Mangekyou Sharingan, her eyes were focused on the black flames. Slowly, she was able to extinguish it, an ability she just discovered as well. Blood tears fell from her eyes as she did so, and once all the flames of Amaterasu were gone, Mana deactivated her Mangekyou Sharingan and held her eyes.

Once the flames were extinguished, the Jinchuriki was left in the water unconscious.

Mana turned to Sasuke and saw him clutch his eyes, both of them were badly injured, and both eyes were half-blind because of them overusing the Mangekyou Sharingan. She grabbed Sasuke’s face by his cheeks, she ignored his protests and checked his eyes.

This isn’t good…

She placed her hand on his eye –

“What are you doing?” Sasuke questioned.

“I’m going to heal you with my chakra –”

“What?!”

“My Dark Chakra can heal you.” Mana sid. “It could help you see clearly again.”

“IIE!” Sasuke shoved Mana’s hand away from him. “I’m your older brother, it should be me aiding you, not the other way around!”

“Stop with the ego and do it already! If you don’t stand still force you down!”

“Stop making sacrifices for me!”

“Stop it! I’m not going to let you die! If you think I’ll let you go blind because of how reckless you are, then you’re wrong! I know that you want to be the one who protects me, to look after me, but please, Oniisan, let me help you, just this time!”

Seeing his sister’ s pleading eyes, Sasuke finally gave in and lets Mana heal him. The whole time, he, though he felt his eyesight coming back, his pride was slowly crumbling. This wasn’t how things were supposed to be.
