Chapter 3, Why I stopped being an Astronaut

During the Space Race of the Cold War, I joined NASA something I wanted to do for a long time now becoming an Astronaut felt like a dream.
My shuttle launched off and with me where a couple of trained Astronauts, I never forgot when we broke out of the Earth's atmosphere I couldn't help but cheer which my crew laughed at my excitement.
Once we reached space, our Captain notify Houston of our success we went to work. Made sure systems still ran like water and oxygen and gathered data.
I floated around in the zero gravity while collecting data from the satellite, I asked the Captain what our main mission was, Captain told me our mission was collecting data from the satellite since our stations back home kept getting strange noises.
Not sure what noises they heard but I resumed on my job, then we listen to audio samples from the satellite.
At first we heard nothing which isn't unusual in Space but we heard something muttering as if it was trying talk to us.
We tried decrypt the sound but it was continue to mutter then it released a high pitch scream which us remove our headsets.
One of our teammates asked "What the hell was that?" We wonder what it is so we notify Houston of our founding.
They told us to keep researching, while everyone went to bed I continue to listen in on the muttering.
Luckily there was no screaming just muttering, I tried listening closely to understand it then it stared to sound clearer.
I heard a voice sounding human it said "Hello?....Hello?...This is an S.O.S from the Les...We are Cosmonauts if these message reaches you it's to late..We spotted an unknown Asteroid coming towards us....But it didn't look like a rock...It moved to much like an actual ship...Please notify whatever Nation you come from I fear something is coming..." Then the muttering return and became more disembodied.
I notify my team and they found it strange til our Engineer pointed out to something out, we all came and noticed another ship.
Except it didn't look like NASA or any Nation's Space Group, it looked like one of those ships described in Sci Fyi movies and books.
It was bulky and metallic, I was still listening then I heard a voice saying "We see you..." I was confused I even told my crew and they told me to continue to listen.
"We know you can see us...The Planet was our...Til your people removed us...We are the true humans...and we will be becoming home..." Suddenly their ship open and stepped out where people actually people.
They looked of people from Earth, my crew and I became shock then I listen to their final message.
"Be ready...Home stealers..." Their ship then zipped off into the darkness of Space. We returned to Earth and kept what we saw a secret.
I don't know what they meant, saying their the true humans and Earth was theirs and we stole it?
I am still scared what if they do return? what will they do? whatever the case I still stay awake at night wondering what I just witness.
