Chapter Six: Pendant necklace

I didn't have much sleep last night. I was busily plotting ideas of fun things I'll do before I die. Hell, yeah. This house alone was dangerous . Hell,yeah. I didn't see a future anymore.

I was feeling a bit sick. I took my medicine,changed the bandage on my leg and bathed.

“Ms Smith”,called out a voice I loved to hear. It was Kairo. I was definitely developing a crush on him. But I'm targeting the dark brooding one.

I put on my beautiful pendant,it's glowing green light,my favorite kind of thing. I wore one simple clothes Kairo got me, a denim skirt and crop top,my favorite pair.

I walked down the stairs in my slippers. I had only the slippers. I suppose Kairo forgot to buy it for me? Don't be an ungrateful b***h . I scolded myself. I was taking advantage of the situation and I hated myself for it.

Kairo was already down, standing by the dark, mysterious Cassain Santos. f**k, he's my type! Cassain Santos… It feels like I've heard your name before. Santos…

Whatever.

“ Good morning”, I said, standing there fiddling with the hem of my skirt. Anytime I'm nervous, I feel like I want to do something to keep myself busy. If I don't find anything, I fiddle with my clothes or bag.

“Good morning”, he said. Cassian said . He didn't even need to look up. He was typing furiously on his keyboard.

Kairo gave me a warm smile. “Please, sit for breakfast”,he said.

I sat down,meekly.

“Do you want coffee?”,he asked.

I didn't even get the chance to reply when Cassain spoke, “She has f*****g hands”

My smile faltered, rude asshole.

Kairo looked at him and sighed then smiled at me. I nodded understandingly.

He mouthed, “Feel free to eat anything”

“ ‘Kay”, I also mouthed smiling.

I poured coffee for myself and took some bread. Let me keep it simple before this Mr brooding starts with his s**t again.

With my bad luck, I knocked over my glass of water. f**k…

“Sorry”, I said quickly, taking tissues. Kairo attempted to help but , Cassain gave him the eye that says,’Dont you f*****g dare take a step’

Cassain’s stare lingered at me for sometime. “Where did you get that necklace?”

I stilled. Mom…

His stare bore right through my soul. He was dangerously attractive and I hated that I noticed.

“I..I-I..”, I think I'm going dumb.

"You know what, forget it. That's probably a replica and a fake”,he said. He stood up. “Kairo, ask the driver to get the car ready”

“ Yes,boss”, he replied, quickly taking off.

That is rude. My mother gave me this pendant. She said it was priceless ,that I should keep it safe. How can he tell me it's a replica and a fake?

This son of a…

“Dont wear things you don't understand, Rhea”,he said.

What I don't understand is what this man's thoughts are. He's so infuriating …uh

His stare lingered at my face for a moment before he stared at my pendant once more.

“Take that s**t off”,he commanded. “ It's getting under my skin”

With that he left,he was a jerk sometimes, furious for no reason! Jesus…

What does he know about my pendant? Why is he so…. so annoying?! I finished my breakfast. I was starving. I even had the guts to eat almost half of the fruits. He was not ruining my mood and I'm not taking anything off.
