CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
Betty drove Carol to the airport two evenings later, where Carol caught a plane for Miami.
The first two days Carol never left the hotel, lolling around at the poolside in the bright sunshine. But she enjoyed the tranquility and sunshine, and was particularly happy about being away from home and in a new environment.
Her second night, as she ate dinner in the hotel dining room, a face from her past loomed before her. She began thinking about Gary Peterson, her old lover, and wondered what it would be like to be in the position of getting to make love to him again.
