The forest was quiet now—too quiet. Zara staggered through the dense trees, blood matting the dark brown fur of her wolf form. Every breath she took was shallow and labored, every step a reminder of the gaping wound in her side. Nathan’s wolf had gotten in a lucky hit—a very lucky hit.
