Davina's Pov: "Take a bath, as you can see for yourself." I said in an agitated tone. "Okay, is there any motive for that? I mean, the weather is so cold and it's Sunday." Vincenzo said, using a more softer tone. "Do I need to remind you of how the university works? Should in case you forgot, I'll remind you! Have got lectures to submit." I said. The University was a very prestigious one, they didn't allow lecturers giving lectures randomly. I was expected to submit my lectures before due day, for approval by the higher-ups in the university. I had lectures on Monday, meaning it had to be submitted on Sunday. The results will be sent to my email, when the higher-ups are done going through and inspecting them. "You will no longer be working at the university. During this five years of marriage, you will be a house wife." What? Did I hear him well? I will no longer be working as a lecturer, rather I will seat home and just be a mere consumer? Of course not, I'm never going to submit to such a decision. i couldn't tell whether he joked or was serious. He is no one to walk into my life and give me lessons on how I'm going to live my life. I'm not going to take that from him. "You won't tell me what to do, Vincenzo Cassano. I do what I want." I said to his face. I don't care if he is a mafia boss, this is about my private life we are talking about, and i have always lived by my own rules. "Should in case you forgot, you are under my control. I am your husband, and I as well have a say to whatever you decide. Kindly join me in bed." He implored. "I won't do this. I won't agree to this s*****y thing you are putting me into. I demand-" Before I could complete my statement, he placed his index finger on my lips, shutting it from altering another word. And next, he parted my lips with his mouth, inserting his tongue deep into my mouth. His tongue explored every section of my mouth. Wow, what audacity he had, kissing me after throwing such a bomb to me, for heaven sake doesn't he care that i am his professor! Gosh… It was the best kiss I had had in a while. Working at the club, I was exposed to several men which by chance we got to exchanged kisses to a few who caught my eye. But this one was different. It was soft and passionate, it was straight from heaven. "What did you just do?" I asked him. I pushed him away from me, that's because I didn't want him to know I loved the kiss. It would get more complicated if something else happened after this kiss. "A kiss! What every married couple do." He said to my face. "I hope you don't forget we never got married as a real couple. This is all fake, and would be terminated in some years to come." I said, taking some distance away from him. "If I'm not mistaken you read everything in the contract, not so? It was clearly stated what every normal couple do." He said taking his leave. I was left alone in the gigantic room speechless. What do I do now? Follow his rules or go against it? What if he refusedto continue with my mom's bills, i couldn't afford that to happen! And what was the problem again? I thought I had already come into terms with everything in the contract which specifically stated that we're to do everything married couples do. Gosh! What a dilemma! I pushed open the door heading to the kitchen, I needed a strong drink. It might help calm down this feeling. Right now, I wanted just to pass away. "Mrs. Cassano, please stay wherever you are. They are gunshots, I think you should go back to your room." The head maid said. 'Po…po…po…po' I kept hearing the sounds of gunshots outside. Barely 24 hours I moved into the Cassano family's house, and I was already exposed to this. Really? Is that how my life is going to be now? Vincenzo rushed in, giving me a hug, "For your safety you should follow me." He grabbed my hand, walking so fast, which caused me to hasten my footsteps. "Vincenzo, what's happening out there for crying out loud, why am I exposed to this kind of situation?" I asked, still following him. "This is not the time to ask questions, kindly follow me. Be fast, hasten up. I got scores to settle out there." I could sense the excitements in his tone. We went down the basement. He opened a door and asked me to walk in. The room was so dark, even in the day time there was nothing I could see. " For the meantime you'll stay here until I am done bringing down the tension." "What? You don't expect me to stay in this place, it's damn frightful. I'd rather die than stay here" I said honestly. "You want to die, is that it? Then follow me, course I know where you'll be shot instantly." He said, holding my wrist tight, and dragging me out of the room in a rough manner. He was truly a devil in disguise. How could he drag out a lady in that manner? I am yet to know Vincenzo Cassano in person. "Let go off me." I screamed till the top of my voice. I was scared to stay there all by myself. Because there were a whole lots of coffins in the room, why would he want me to stay alone in a place occupied by coffins? I'm not a ghost! "You don't expect me to stay here, with all these coffins, what do they all contain? You.....you wouldn't be into human trafficking too, right?" I asked with caution. "Davina, there's no human in there. This is where we keep our money. Our assets aren't declared reason why it is kept in our possession. Does this explanation suits you?" He used a soft tone. "Yes, I will then stay here. But please be fast about it. This place looks scary." "I promise to come back as soon as possible. Lock the door behind you, and don't open to any one until I tell you to do so." He kissed my forehead before taking his leave. A while ago we were both arguing, and now, everything seem to be fine between the two of us. I hope this can last for a long time. Immediately he left, I felt like everything was going to end for me. My legs became weak, my body was stiff and my eyes couldn't still overcome what they had in front of them. Locked up in a room full of coffins. Gosh… the fear in me multiplied by ten. It got worse when I heard some noise from one angle, I felt sticky sweat dripping down my body. I began asking myself if I was ever going to see the next day. But then, I was still alive, locked up in the coffins room. 'Knocks' About two hours after Vincenzo left, I heard someone knocking on the door. Who was that? Why was the person not speaking? Did they discover my hiding position…. Oh no, I'm done for. I kept quiet, though my feet were trembling. I covered my mouth with my two hands to ensure the grits of my teeth could not be heard. "Davina, are you there?" I heard the voice calling out my name. That was Vincenzo's voice. He was back as he promised. I hope he succeeded in clearing off the mess and we are all secured. "Yes, I am." I said nonchalantly, reaching to the door. When I opened the door, the first thing I did was embracing him. His sweet cologne intoxicated my nostrils. It was so good to be out there, after being locked for two f*****g hours. "Are you fine? Hope nothing happen to you?" I suddenly asked. I don't know at which moment my hands travelled over his body, checking whether he was hurt. From what I observed, he had no wounds. "I'm good. You shouldn't bother about me. Let's get you out of here first." he held my hand, directing me. Only then I remembered I was still angry at him. But he did everything in protecting me from getting hurt. Do I get his hands off me, or allow them?
