Chapter FiveMonday morning, I woke up with Jeremiah next to me and smiled. He was so cute when he slept. I lay next to him, cuddling until he woke up. Then it was time to get the day going. We played outside blowing bubbles and drawing with sidewalk chalk. Then I decided to cook chicken tenderloins and cheesy rice for the kids, leaving some for me to take to work.
At work, as I walked into Ethan’s department to make copies, I swear he and his buddies were still staring at me.
“God, give it up already,” I thought, not really meaning to communicate telepathically. “That was weeks ago; get over it.”
I went back into my department and made sure to regale my adventures to Jerod about Carrie, without going into explicit detail or mentioning Adam. Maybe gossip would even spread to Ethan. Jerod
