Chapter 9
Robbie awoke to the sound of roosters outside. It took him a few seconds to remember where he was. The Farm. How could he forget? He rolled out of bed and went into the bathroom. He quickly finished up in there, got dressed, and headed down to the kitchen to join everyone.
Christine, the Chief of Police, was sitting at the head of the table when he walked in. She pointed to an empty seat.
“Good morning, sleepyhead,” Kim said with a big smile, then mouthed a kiss in his direction.
Robbie looked over at Sean sitting next to Christine. Yes, he saw the kiss Kim blew him. Robbie blushed. “Good morning.”
Sean paid them no attention. He smiled and concentrated on his plate.
