Aaron met with Robbie briefly the next morning before he and Hank left. “There are some mean sons-a-bitches over in Rockport, Robbie. It would be super dangerous for you and Hank to go there, especially the way you two confronted us. With the promise of fuel in the future, I think we can spare a little to go there and try to reason with them ourselves. They know us, and they won’t shoot first and ask questions later.”
Robbie pulled out his map and showed it to Aaron. He scrutinized the area. “You can cut across here,” Aaron said pointing. “Then this road will take you to Bayside. You’ll almost get to Refugio and take a right here. There’s not much out there, and you probably won’t see anyone. You can make good time and be back to 35 before you know it.”
