Aria’s POV
I run around in my Lycan form looking following the cries. What could that be, I hope it isn’t hurt much. I look around for a while, and finally, I see it. Oh, no! I turn into my human form, this way I can help. It is a wolf, he looks so weak and frail. It’s like he hasn’t been eating. He is so tiny and he looks badly hurt. He looks like he was stabbed by something sharp on his side. Poor him, I wonder what he has come to do in this area. As far as I know, wolf's packs are really far from Lycans. I think he must be lost or something.
I kneel beside him and I lean my head on his neck, his breathing is just in puffs, so slow, I can feel the effort he is making to breathe, it’s like he is going to die soon. What do I do now, it is night and there is no one around us? I try to spy around if there is light or even smoke to indicate presence of people, but there is none. It’s just me with the hurt wolf and nothing to help him with. I feel so helpless right now. But I need to help him either way.
“What do I do now?” I say to myself as I sit beside him. He opens his eyes slowly, but shuts them immediately. He has lost so much blood, and I can also tell that he doesn’t even eat properly. The night is still very young, so I cannot sit down here and just wait for morning to come. I need to improvise because I cannot just let him die.
“Please don’t go anywhere, let me look for a way to help you. I will be right back. Be alive alright.” I say to him. I stand up and dust my bare b**t before leaving to look for something that can help him out.
I walk around looking for something, I guess luck is on my side because I just walk for a little while and I find almost everything I am looking for. I find a small hide out, definitely someone lives here but for some unknown reason they are not here.
“Thank you moon goddess.” I say smiling, at least I will get to save his life.
There is a bucket full of water, though I don't even know if it's clean. There is a fire place made on the ground with a small hole to insert the firewood. The place is sheltered by a fence made of twigs and branches which are cut from a tree. The shelter isn't that effective since when it rains, then it will just pour on the person. I decide instead of picking up the things I need, it will be the best idea to just carry the wolf here.
I go back to where I had left him, he is still groaning in pain. I feel so bad for him. He is so hurt, and I know it will take quite a while for him to heal completely. Wolves heal fast but due to him being weak then it will take some days or maybe a week.
“I am going to help you to get better alright.” I take him in my arms, as I am carrying him, I remember that I am completely naked. I just hope he didn't scan my naked body.
I carry him in my arms carefully to prevent hurting him. He feels so light in my arms, he is malnourished, I wonder why he punishes himself by not eating. I will make sure he gets food for sure, and I am going to force him to eat it.
I place him on a mat carefully. I know he will spill some blood on the mat. I can't let him sleep on the floor. I will just have to apologize to the owner of this shelter when they come back.
I kneel to scan the wound and to understand the depth of the stab wound. Thank goodness I took the medical classes my father had paid for me. At least now they will come in handy.
“What were you doing to get yourself this hurt, huh.” I talk to the wolf as I dress his wound slowly. He groans with each touch. I blow some air to the wound with my mouth, maybe it will help with the pain, even just for a moment. The wound is so deep, I just hope he makes it. I clean the wound with the water from the bucket, and I find a small cloth to cover it. The cloth isn't enough to tie the wound, so I just place it on top of the wound to protect it from dust.
“I am so sorry, it will just be a minute. I promise. Please just endure for a while. All will be well.” I say to him. He opens his eyes again and looks at me briefly before he shuts them again. I can see how he is hurting, he is closing his eyes so tight as I clean the wound. I feel so bad for him, I wouldn't want to be in this situation.
“I am sorry.” I say in a low voice as I touch his side of the face with my other hand to console him.
He opens his eyes again. And this time he looks at me for a while before he closes them again. “I will be here for you until you get better. I promise. It's a princess promise, and princesses never break their promises.” He shoots his eyes open immediately I finish the sentence, he stares at me in what seems like anger and resentment. He tries to stand up but due to the pain he falls right back on the floor.
“Please don't do that, just rest please, so that your healing process can start.” I say firmly to him. Why did he react that way when I talked about me being a princess? I just don't know why. He tries to get up again, but he cannot, why is he trying to get away from me? Does he think that I will hurt him or what.
“Please be still, I wouldn't hurt you, woffy.” I say to him sweetly, smiling down at him. “And by the way, I will be calling you woffy now, until the time you will turn and tell me your name.” I say. I actually like that name, Woffy, it sounds so original.
“So please Woffy, you can close your eyes now and sleep. I swear by the moon goddess, I will take care of you and I will not harm you in any way. I promise that as soon as you get well, I will be on my way." I say to him. He looks at me as if to confirm if what I am saying is true. And after a while, he closes his eyes.
“I hope the goddess favors you and heals you.” I say to the wolf as I sit next to him, covering his body with a rusty old blanket which was neatly folded and placed on top of the mat.
I wonder who could live in this place. It's so creepy and scary, and I guess so lonely. I wonder what made the person resort to living like this.
I decide to lie beside the wolf, I cover myself with the edge of the blanket. I get just enough to cover my butt. But the rest of the body is completely exposed.
I look up at the stars as I play the events of the day in my head. The little prince, my alleged brother, my step mum's infidelity, everything about me is bitter. Nothing I ever do is enough to impress my father. I feel tears roll down the sides of my face since I am sleeping facing up. The wolf groans beside me, this time it's not from the pain, it's as if he is consoling me. But maybe it's just my mind lying to me.
I am so unlucky.
Here I am helping a strange wolf, what if he turns on me when he gets better. What will I do?
What if he attacks me when I am asleep? That though makes me alert, I hurriedly sit upright, and I let the strange wolf rest as I watch over him. It wouldn't be wise to just sleep. I may have run away from home, but I still want to live. I want to find my mate. The thought of finding my mate keeps me going. It even makes me smile, I am going to endure all that will come my way just for him. When he finds me, then all will be worth it.
