CHAPTER 21 Suddenly there was a glitch. The phone call from Claude Rainier had been like a kick in the head. It caused Eric Weissenstein to drop everything, including the Shearer matter. He left for Appenzell immediately, his farm in the mountains. Technical problems he did not need. Not at this stage. He kept in touch with Rainier as his car wound its way from St. Gallen and up to the village of Appenzell.
