I took a deep breath.
Every step toward her felt like a lifetime.
My legs shook.
My hands were sweating.
“Good morning… Patience,” I said, trying to sound calm.
She looked up, her eyes meeting mine.
A small smile played on her lips.
“Good morning,” she replied softly.
Her voice… it was gentle. Light.
But it struck me harder than anything I had ever heard.
I wanted to say a hundred things at once.
I wanted to tell her about the dream.
I wanted to ask her about her life.
I wanted… to know everything.
Instead, I swallowed my words.
I settled for the simplest question I could manage:
“How are you today?”
She tilted her head, studying me carefully.
“I’m fine,” she said.
“Thank you for asking.”
Her eyes lingered on mine for a moment too long.
I felt a spark.
A pull.
Something I couldn’t explain.
“Can… can I walk with you?” I asked, my voice shaking slightly.
She hesitated.
For just a second.
Then nodded.
We walked side by side, slowly, carefully.
The grass crunched under our feet.
The air was calm, but my heart… it raced.
“You know,” I began, “I feel like I’ve seen you before.”
Her eyebrows raised slightly.
“Really?” she asked.
“Yes…” I swallowed hard. “I don’t know how to explain it… but you feel familiar. Like destiny brought me here.”
Her smile widened slightly.
“I… sometimes feel that too,” she whispered.
A pause settled between us.
A quiet that spoke louder than words ever could.
I wanted to say more.
I wanted to tell her everything.
But I stopped myself.
Some things… must unfold slowly.
And in that moment, I knew…
This was just the beginning.
The beginning of something neither of us could ignore.
