Chapter 14: Searching The Crowd

580 Words
Sabrina was walking on the sidewalk and towards the bridge where the old beggar sat. Her shift ended fifteen minutes ago and she had free time for an hour almost. It was the time she usually enjoys strolling through the street stalls. It was a suburb area where she enjoyed looking at people exchanging smiles, making memories, shopping, buying, and selling. It somehow made Sabrina delighted and felt closer to the people even though they were strangers but in a way, she felt that she knew them. That was the kind of girl Sabrina was. Not knowing anyone but still trying to know them even if it was from afar. She crossed the street and walked towards the edge of the bridge where few people were already gathered which also includes the little girl with her mother who questioned Sabrina last time about the story of the girl. She smiled when she saw her and the girl gave her a shy smile back. "Shall we start?" Sabrina ruffles the little girl's hair and she nods shyly in her response. Sabrina takes out the flute from her small bag and looks towards the people who were gathered. She was searching for the one familiar face whose thought motivated her to write the story for the song even if it were a little but she wanted to see him once but to her disappointment, he wasn't there. Sabrina felt a small ting of pain in her heart which again confused her that why she felt this way. She immediately shakes off the feeling and brings the flute close to her mouth. She blows air into the flute and it comes at soothing music. Sabrina plays the flute magnificently, attracting more passerby's as she plays. She closes her eyes while she plays the music, getting the feel of the rhythm. She stops playing and curves her mouth to sing. In a town far away There lived a young girl She had no parents She had no one She lived life on her own She wasn't a beauty She wasn't so rich But a soul so pure A mind couldn't resist Yet she daydreamed about a prince The one who would carry her out Where everyone happily lived But ohhh, never did she know The world wasn't the place To grant her every wish When she walked out of her home People made fun of her dreams Saying; not a girl like you can become a castle's queen But she made a choice One that would make everything right She plays the flute again and by now there were more people than before, enough to call it a crowd. She looks towards the crowd and sings She decided not to wish for a prince Prince is for princesses and she wasn't since She believed in herself that it was right Waiting for a prince wasn't the best choice What she could do on her own Why wait for a prince to come and crown A man with no crown, a man with no title Can also become a hero of all time She focuses her attention back on playing the flute and works her way with it, amazingly In order to live a happy in life She wanted a family that be by her side And so she went to search her soul mate The one who can be ordinary But he will be the one to make everything right
