The Principal's Proposal

CHAPTER 2- Flashback

Flashback……………

Addison lost her mom at the age of seventeen. Her mom died because she found out that his father has an affair with her best friend. She had a heart attack. Now, his Dad is married to her new wife after three months of her mom’s burial and now they are living together with her step sister.

“You can enroll in Hilton University Addie.”  her dad said while they are having breakfast. If it’s a normal day, she would’ve hugged her father for enrolling her to college. This is her first year in college and she wants to be like her mom.

“Darling, say thanks to your father.” Hilda, her stepmom said. Hilda acts like a mother every time her father is with them but she is wicked most of the time. It’s the same with Tricia her step sister.

“Thank you for not prohibiting me to my right for education.” Her stepmom is not happy every time she talks like this so she always talk like this. She saw how Hilda almost lost her temper. “How about my dear sister, Dad? Did she graduate or she’d be repeating? Oh, I forgot. You bribed the school to pass her this time and last time. Good for you, Tricia.” she said full of sarcasm.

Anton, her father, put down his coffee and stared at her. “What? You think we don’t know what you did? Really, Dad? A building for one school year? You’ll have a corporation after she’s done studying.” She said looking at Tricia with her pseudo smile. She saw her stepmother’s eyes twitched trying to stop herself from transforming into the beast that she is. Addie lift her coffee and motion a toast to Hilda that made the latter smile forcefully.

“Stop it Addison. I did not want to cause any problem to Dad.” Tricia said that made Addie laugh hard. This is what they do in front of her father. They act like a victim but the truth is they are full of wickedness. “Addie, apologize to your sister.” Her dad said with finality. Addie looked at her dad with so much hatred. She saw how the two witches smirked at her.

“I am sorry.” She said while looking at her father. Then she looked at Tricia and said “But I will never apologize because I only said what is true. Now, if it hurts, start studying and don’t be dumb-“

“Addison!” her father’s voice blared like a thunder that made her stop. Her father is now standing and Hilda is acting like she’s in so much pain.

“Anton, look at how disrespectful this child is.” Hilda said with a pseudo sob.

“Respect, that’s a great word. I’d like to hear more of it from the both of you.”she said and leaned on the table with her hand on her chin waiting for them to recover from their shock because of what she said. “Never mind. I have a future to build. I don’t have time for traitors.” She said and left.

Addison is on her way to Lucia’s house. Lucia is her happy pill. In times like this, their house is her park. Lucia’s parents treated her like their own.

She went inside Lucia’s house and greeted the oldies. She calls Lucia’s parents as Paps and Mams. “Hey gorgeous.”she said to Lucia’s mom. She smiled and said “She’s upstairs still sleeping. You did not say you’ll come.”

“It’s a long story, mams.”she just said and went to Lucia’s room.

She was greeted by blaring kpop music. She opened the door and there she is still wearing her pajama while trying to synchronize with the music. Addie slowly walked in and turned off the speaker. Lucia turned to her with disappointment.

“Dude, really?”is the only thing she managed to say and hit her on her head jokingly. “I did it Lucy.” Addie started. “I saw the look in his eyes. He’s very disappointed.” She lied down on her bed. Lucia did the same thing.

“Sometimes we gotta do what we gotta do.” Lucy said and pats her head. They looked at each her and smiled. “Anyway, today is the enrollment. Do we have plans for our life?”she added.

“That’s why I’m here. Go get dressed, I’ll wait for you outside.” Addie said and went out of the room. While she’s on the stairs she overheard the conversation of Lucia’s parents.

“Anton is planning to send her to States. He discovered that she she’ll take up the same degree as her mother. Anton is not happy about it.” Paps said.

“Can we stop him? This is her dream. He should be the first to know because he’s the father. I do not know what happened to him. He’s a different person now. That Hilda is no good for him.” Mams said.

Her eyes watered not because she’s sad but because it good to know that there are people who genuinely cares and wants the best for you. She did not stop herself and went down to hug the couple who are shocked because of what she did.

“Thank you so much, mams and paps.” Is the only thing she said. The couple smiled at her.

“Addie, be strong. You have a long war ahead but we know that you can do it.” Paps said which made her smile.

She lost her mother but it still feels like she’s here because of them. She will be forever grateful.
