*A week after the fight*
Dingdong
"Ugh, why?!?" Rosetta groaned from under her covers. She still felt slight pain from her ribs anytime she moved, no matter the amount of healing done. She was always feeling pain after as if her body rejected healing.
The rain was poring down outside so whoever decided to come to her house must be facing some troubles, though that did nothing for her to move any faster they did disturb her sleep after all.
She still didn't understand why Ley had to get her such a big house, as if she couldn't stay in the dormitories...
Don't play coy, we both know damn well why we can't be there.
Still, it is sort of lonely here...not that you aren't great company Gabe it's just...
Human interaction is paramount for survival among your species, for what I don't understand. Most humans are too anti social and others take advantage of social interactions to either belittle others and make themselves feel better or to blackmail others. I'd rather stay away from that.
Putting it that way, makes the homo sapiens seems ungrateful for the little and simple things in their way of life.
It's too early in the morning to discuss the moral compass of humanity. I'd rather know who's outside in this rainstorm.
Such simpler findings.
After finishing the two flights of stairs, Rosetta was in the lobby leading to the front door, she went to the side window to take a peek at who it was. At the sight of blonde hair outside she immediately knew it was William. She didn't know any other blondes plus no one else would know where she lived.
She quickly opened the door to wind slapping her in the face and rain kissing her cheeks, she hurriedly ushered William inside who was partially soaked from head to toe.
"What the hell were you thinking going out in a storm like this?"
William chuckled, "No hey Will how've you been? or "Why are at my at my house?"
"I thought it was implied when I asked, about you and this storm."
He removed his scarf and jacket leaving him in a grey turtle neck sweater and faded blue jeans.
"Sorry about your clothes by the way, just wanted to see if you were still home?"
Rosetta looked down at her white t-shirt and baggy sweatpants that were mildly soaked. She sighed, "Guess I don't need a shower now huh?"
William laughed, "You missed orientation because of your injuries so I thought of being your guide around school again. If you don't mind?"
She walked away and gestured for him to follow her, they went into the kitchen. The kitchen tiles were mosaic grey and white. The island was smack dab in the middle of the room with chairs around it the cupboards were dark rosewood. There was a window above the stove showcasing the ongoing battle mother nature was having with the world.
"Did you have breakfast yet?" Rosetta asked pulling the refrigerator door open and turning her head back to look at him.
"No, I rushed over as soon as I realized your situation."
"How does pancakes, eggs and bacon with cinnamon toast sound?"
"Like a feast. Need any help? I can make pancakes and the eggs while you work on the bacon and toast." William asked with a hand on his left cheek.
"Sounds like a plan." Rosetta replied with a smile.
They moved around the kitchen in comfortable silence, with Rosetta directing William to the necessary utensils.
Aren't you two a well oiled machine.
Yes, feels like family. William just has this warm aura about him.
You could say it's because he's the sun.
Hmm...what do you mean? Because his name is Morgenstern?!?
"Rose, the bacon it's burning!" William exclaimed pushing her to the side and quickly removing them from the pan.
He turned around to look at her and held her by her shoulders, he looked into her eyes.
"Are you okay? You seem to space out alot."
She was slightly shocked, about the burning food in front of her all of a sudden and push she got to save her fingers.
Ro snap out of it! We have an audience.
She shook her head and blinked a few times, her vision refocused and the sight of pink eyes had her hypnotized for a few seconds.
Ro!
"Ro!"
Her head jerked upwards right into William's own. Their faces were close, William held his ground instead of moving when they opened their eyes they held their breath.
Well if 360 was a situation. This would be it.
They were so close, they could make out the colours hidden within each other's eyes. Rosetta's magi flared to life upon the close proximity to William.
She saw the sun, in his eyes. The brightest star itself shown all round him, he was embodied by it. One could say William himself was the sun, both warm and bright yet utterly dangerous.
Her magi retracted safely back inside of her and she was jerked backwards by the amount force her magi used to help her understand the person in front of her.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I can be so clumsy, let's eat." Rosetta turned away from him and filled her plate full of food.
William was dazed, he felt something he wasn't sure what. However it touched his aura and soothed his worries, made him feel so calm.
He put the questions he had to the back of his mind for another day, for everything can't always be revealed in one go. He took a seat adjacent to Rosetta's and began eating.
"Are you ready for classes? Here at Cigam I mean?"
Rosetta looked up at William pausing in the middle of biting her bacon, she chewed it nervously and swallowed with a big gulp. Her lips pursed in though of that question; was she really ready for the start of her next four years at Cigam?
She gave a nervous chuckle and ran her hand through her hair, "Really, I'm not. I mean whoever is ready to make the biggest change in their lives and remains calm doing so; props to them. No one is ever really ready for change." She finished with a closed eyed smile directed towards William.
William was amazed at her logic, she was too young to have such understanding of the world, he wondered what happened to make her gain so much realism so fast in life. Whatever it was he hoped, she didn't have to go through it again.
"That much is true, however you can be prepared for change. Right?" William asked as he finished his last pancake and began clearing the dishes to the sink. Rosetta turned on the stool and hugged herself.
"It all depends."
"On?"
"The person, the situation, the plan and the change to come."
William raised an eyebrow at her, "What I meant to say was it depends on the person who is in the situation and what kind of plan they are making for the change to come."
He nodded at her statement and a slight smile appeared on his lips.
"Enough of that, what classes do you have?"
1-0
Rosetta inwardly sent an image to Gabe of her rolling her eyes.
"Arcane and Runes 101 with a Ms Featherinton?"
"Ah, yes. Good 'ole Ms Featherinton. She makes the best cupcakes and she gives them as prizes for passing a exam or practical. I'll see you in that class. What else?"
"Battle Strategies and Combat with Ms Floreum, Herbology AM with Mr Grimm and Elements and Potions with Mr and Mrs Colloyds."
"We all have BSC totally mandatory, EP is like an elective but really easy to get a pass. However I didn't know your taking Advance Magi classes, Ricka is going to be thrilled!"
She chuckled at his enthusiasm for his friend.
Hold your horses there, sweetheart. He said you all have Battle Strategies and Combat! ALL!
You don't think he means?
I think so! He did say it was mandatory.
Oh peanut butter!
"William when you said we all have BSC together, you don't mean..." Rosetta trailed off hoping he'd pick up on what she was asking him. His pink eyes filled with recognition. He gave a nervous laugh.
"Ah, well yes. Daniel will be in that class too, along with Arcane and Runes 101 plus Elements and Potions."
A streak of lightning flashed at that moment darkening the kitchen for a brief second. Rosetta felt her heartbeat spike up along with her breathing becoming heavier. She stood up from the stool and began pacing.
"Ah, that bastard. Why does he do they same subjects as me? Can't he switch...but then he was here before me should I switch?..." She stopped pacing at this question. William as leaning against the sink watching her quietly muse to herself. She suddenly slammed her hands down on the island top, William jumped a little the action was startling.
"Why the hell should I switch, if he can't stand it he'll switch. I chose those subjects because I liked them. How dare he has any problems with it. Wait until I get my hands on him again, this will not end in a tie again." She was huffing after her rant, she quickly turned towards William who was just as surprised as well.
"William wait here, I'm going to get ready. Then your going to take me to him and I'm going to smash his pretty little face in along with that stupid smirk of his and those dark eyes too. So annoying!" She stomped out of the kitchen with those words and headed upstairs.
William was still leaned against the sink, he began to pat the place where his heart is very slowly.
"That was scary."
Then he chuckled to himself when he went over what she said, "Pretty face, huh. This is going to be interesting."
*At Cofaidh 4 Toileachas*
Daniel walked into the shop and shook some water out of his hair. Damn this weather and whoever is messing with mother nature, Daniel thought.
He walked up to the counter, there was a girl there with blue hair and hazel eyes in the form of slits, she was a heimskautaköttur. He smiled to himself, he did love being an ambassador for the his good looks.
He walked up to the counter and flashed the heimskautaköttur a smile, she blushed and held down her face.
"Hvað get ég náð í fyrir þig?" She said in her native tongue.
"Talar þú ensku?" Daniel replied.
Her eyes went wide and she nodded. "I'm sorry, I'm so used to speaking my native language that I sometimes forget that I'm in a different realm. So what can I get you?"
"I know it's habit, so how's my Icelandic?" Daniel asked propping his elbow on the counter top while taking a candy out of the many jars on there. She smirked, "Not bad, I would've took you as a native if it weren't for your appearance. You still haven't told me your order."
"Are you saying I look awful? As for my order I'll take eftirréttinn sem heitir þér."
"Oh no..." She leaned forward on the glass countertop bringing herself closer to him, "...you look good enough to eat..." She licked her lips, "...as for your order come with me. It needs to be custom made to fit your needs."
With that she led him around back to the storage room, inwardly Daniel thanked his ancestors for forcing their offspring to take up languages of all kinds.
*30 minutes later*
William and Rosetta stepped into Cofaidh 4 Toileachas. It was a nice and comfy little coffee shop. As one stepped inside they are at the counter with an assortment of candies in jars and confectioners inside each better than the last. Along side the wall four seaters were placed with their beige colour and white tables between them.
To the back their are two seat tables lined up. The counter top goes all the way to end stopping before the bathroom door. The equipment for making coffee and other sweet potions are lined along the wall behind the counter beside the baked goods display case.
The place was decked in warm earth brown colours to accentuate the feel of getting your favourite drink from mother nature herself. Rosetta looked around wondering where the barista was.
She turned around to ask William but he began shaking water out of her hair. "Have to stay dry, can't have you catching a cold and missing school any more."
She smiles up at him, he was like a big brother to her and she couldn't help but finally feel happy to be safe.
"Ahem...can I help you?"
They both turned at the voice to find the missing barista, she was dressed in tight fitted shorts and a tank top with the Cofaidh 4 Toileachas' apron in her hands. Beside her was Daniel with messy brown hair, swollen lips and an irritated expression on his face.
He was wearing his school uniform minus his jacket and overcoat both in his hand. The barista tied her blue hair behind her back and narrowed her hazel slitted eyes at them while moving towards the back of the counter.
"What are you doing here?" Both Rosetta and Daniel aimed at each other.
"I asked you first!" Again they said the statement together.
"No, I did. Stop copying me!" They both glared at each other with the hate they could muster. They broke eye contact when the barista and William chuckled at them.
"I dare say, it would seem they are in a relationship." The barista said in her accent and eating a mint choco candy from it's designated jar.
Rosetta shivered and made a barfing sound, "I would never like this guy. He's too egotistical and stereotypic."
"I would never like this girl. She's too opinionated and delusional."
They both turned back to glare at each other. Rosetta scoffed at the sight of him in disarray, she finally looked at him properly.
"William can we order and go please?" Rosetta said turning from Daniel.
"Sure." William turned to the barista.
She went behind the cash register, looked up at them and smiled.
"Okay, Milano. I'll take a caramel coconut iced coffee with extra caramel and whipped cream please."
"I'll have a iced chocolate mocha extra caramel and extra whipped cream too please." Rosetta smiled up at William and he ruffled her hair. Her nose scrunched up from the action, she blew a raspberry at him while squatting away his hands.
"Well if that isn't precious." They both turned to look in Daniel's direction he was sitting in a four seaters booth playing with the straws on the table.
William smirked at Daniel, then he nudged Rosetta's arm. "Go sit down. I'll be there soon."
"But it's with..." She pointed at the Daniel at table "...don't make me." She put on a show of her best puppy dog eyes and pouty lips.
William nearly caved and changed his mind but steeled himself with the idea that it would be better if they got along since he's was starting to consider her as a little sister and Daniel is his childhood friend.
He smiled at her, which got her hopes up then he shook his head no. "Go now."
She huffed and went to sit opposite of him. She decided to face the window and watch the ongoing rain outside though it was slowing down to a drizzle.
"Missed me?"
She ignored him. Not answering is the best thing to do right now.
"Ignoring me is the best you can do. Where's the spitfire that straddled me a week ago?"
Rose's head whipped around so fast that she was sure it would hurt later. She glared at him as heat crept up her neck about his statement.
"Ahh...that got her attention." Daniel smirked. He was good with people especially women. Children loved him, moms and grandmas too; hell even dads and brothers. So why was it so hard to get along with this girl.
"Not by choice. If it was given I'd never get or be on top of you ever again."
"You make it sound like a bad thing. Just ask Milano she'll vouch for me." Again with that cocky smirk. Rosetta's eyes flashed grey for a minute.
"I'll never put myself in that position ever again."
Daniel paused for a second and blinked, did her eyes just changed colour or am I tripping? He thought. What's up with her voice she sounds different from a minute ago.
"Ro let's go! Coffee's ready."
She gave him a cold look and simply left him there confused. William looked back at Daniel's confused face and felt relief at least he's not the only one that gets stumped by talking with her.
"So how was it?"
She glared at William, "If I'm ever put into that situation again...I'll kill him."
"Oh, why is that?" William asked feigning ignorance and taking a sip of his coffee. They were on a path walking towards Arcane and Runes 101 class, the rain was no longer falling but the smell of damp earth and grass wafted through the air.
"Don't try to be ignorant in this situation. We just don't like each other and I know your heart was in the right place but please don't try to make me that uncomfortable again okay?"
William sighed, "I won't but fair warning he does sit with us at lunch..." She spun around to look at him heatedly. He raised his hands in mock surrender with his coffee cup"...friends and all. I did say fair warning." William chuckled.
A figure was rushing in their direction though both of them won't paying attention to that direction, the person knocked right into Rosetta making her coffee spill. She lost her balance and began falling however the person caught her by the waist.
She looked up at her survivor and wrong doer, he had olive skin and dark brown eyes almost black they looked like they glow in the dark. He smelled liked spices and oak after it was soaked in wine. His shaggy deep blue-black hair fell onto his forehead behind his round gold rimmed glasses.
"Hal 'ant bakhyr?"
