Chapter 4 - The Name and The School

Last night was absolutely awful, well that is what Rosetta thought anyway after seeing a video of her being splashed at last night's party on Magichat the following morning.

"Ugh, can my life get any worse."

Careful what you wish for, Red.

Yeah, I know karma's gonna come back to bite me in the tush. I know.

You said tush, hehe.

Rosetta rolled her eyes at the voice and found herself giving a little smile about the statement the voice made. Then a thought occurred to her, quite surprised at herself that she never asked before.

Umm...

Spit it out Red. If you don't ask how will you ever know the answer and be at ease or know how to move forward?

That was notably deep.

What can I say, when you got it you got it.

Pft, whatever. So what is your name?

Oh, that you never gave me one. You just keep calling me "voice" so what the heck.

Oh my, let's change that. I'll call you Gabriella. Make it Ella for short.

Pft, excuse me...The whole name I like the nickname not so much...Ella means light and I ain't no light.

Ugh, fine I'll call you Gabe then how's that?

I like it Rose and Gabe...Gabe and Rose.

Rosetta smirked at Gabe's musings inside her head. It seemed a little better giving the voice a name since it already had a personality of it's own; a name made Rosetta feel more grounded.

It was time to get ready, today is the day for Rosetta's forever which consisted of four years at Cigam.

She was going to miss it all, the freedom, her friends and her sister. But it's all for a good cause persons are stuck on the waiting list for Cigam for months even years and to just grab a chance to go there on the lottery; makes her a enemy in alot of person's eyes.

"Red, are you ready?" Leyla yelled from downstairs.

Since both of them lived together without the need of maids and such, it was always the two of them. On occasion their friends would sleep over.

Rosetta reached the kitchen since that would be the most plausible place they'd all be; seeing as Leyla is a total foodie and Nicolas just encourages her with his many recipes.

Nicolas' father is a renowned chef in all cusines around the globe, it's not surprising that he taught his son nearly everything he knows and that his son does not miss the opportunity to pass on his knowledge.

Currently he was making breakfast while the others sat and conversed about some girl stuff. They all turned upon hearing Rosetta entering the kitchen.

Rosetta stood before them in her Cigam school uniform. Much like any prestigious institution there's a sweater vest or jacket with the school crest embroidered on the left breast pocket, the crisp clean long sleeve white shirt and a plaid pleated short skirt.

Rosetta was wearing the navy blue jacket with the school's crest of a lion and it's mane and two olive branches underneath it. The skirt was dark blue with plaid, which she paired with a black transparent silk stockings over the knee garter the skirt hid it well but if she made the wrong high kick she'd be exposed. She was wearing black suedette genuine snake strap knee high boots.

"Damn, girl you look hot." Leyla said to her sister. Her friends made the same praise to her as she sat down to breakfast.

"I'm so sorry for the guys at Cigam." giggled Liliana.

"Here you go Rose, hot off the stove chocolate chip pancakes." Nicolas' said handing her breakfast. She hummed her thanks and dug in.

Nicolas' food was absolutely divine, he made eggs and bacon with hash browns for Leyla, Liliana got french toast with fruit salad cereal while Nicolas ate a normal grilled cheese sandwich. They had orange juice with their courses. At the end of breakfast Liliana packed up the plates and glasses and placed them in the dishwasher to be clean.

"Alright guys, I'm going to be taking her to Cigam now so lock up when you leave or do you want to tag along?" Leyla asked.

Nicolas side hugged Liliana and smiled while putting a hand in his pocket, "We have school Ley. Plus we still have to shower and all. It's a good thing we have some of our clothes over here."

"Oh Rose can I borrow that pink top you have. The one with the straps at the front?" Liliana asked.

Rosetta smiled, "Sure thing I left a bunch of clothes anyway I don't think I need all my closet." She then pointed to her two suitcases, a duffle bag and women's messenger bag with her school supplies draped over her shoulders.

"Now that is travelling light." Nicolas said between chuckling.

Rosetta and the gang had a group hug before she left for her new school. Rosetta and her sister headed to the garage, "Since your flying the coop wanna drive?" Leyla asked her little sister.

Violet-grey eyes grew wide, "Can I?"

Her sister nodded her head.

"Really?"

Rosetta squealed and threw her arms around her sister thanking her profusely.

"Alright already, go choose your car for the next four years." She said light heartily.

Before Rosetta in their underground garage, was a myriad of cars in different shapes, sizes and colours.

Rosetta stopped at a sleek black convertible. Leyla walked up beside her and held out her hand giving her the key.

"You have taste Red, Mom had this custom made for you but she wanted to give it to you on your seventeenth birthday. That's just a few days away so why not. Happy early birthday."

"Really, she was always awesome like that. I miss her Ley."

"It's okay Red, I miss her too."

There was a pause.

"Alright let's get going."

They were on the road in no time and heading towards Rosetta's future.

*At Cigam Ymedaca*

He slammed his hand down on the desk, his anger getting the better of him after he heard the news from the headmaster; his father.

"Another one, are you serious?" Daniel asked his father.

"Like a plague Danny and lower your tone thank you." His father replied to him calmly and unaffected by his offspring's outburst.

"This can't be happening we are a Magic User only school. For the past two years we've accepted over one thousand five hundred Non Users of Magic because they have potential. How is this girl any different?"

Before his father could answer he started again.

"I though she was a Magic User because of her name. The Stones are one of the most renowned Magic User families in the entire world. They dropped off the grid and we thought we lost a great lineage and no one ever spoke about them ever again expect for the Society of F-.."

"ENOUGH!" Headmaster Fox bellowed at his son. Daniel was shocked into silence. He's never seen his father so furious even his famous neck muscle was bulging, and that is never good.

"I don't know where you heard of this society but you will not utter another word of this to anyone and if you do so help me Daniel Elijah Fox you'll be put into lockdown. Do not cross me."

Daniel silently stood in front of his father glaring at him but not dare saying another word. His father nodded at his compliance. He straighten his jacket and continued.

"Good, now that we have cleared that up. As headmaster I do not need to explain to you as to why I'm allowing Non Users of Magic into this school. Miss Stone is an exceptional protegé, I have never seen someone with such academic ambition and combat strategy; in both weapons and physical knowledge. She might give you a run for top student."

"Tch, no NUM is better than me and I'm certain no NUM can get the best of me."

"Danny my boy you might be in for a shock, you haven't met a Stone woman before and trust me they are unforgettable." With that said he turned his chair around having the back facing his son.

Daniel knew that was his cue to leave, no matter how much he would like to convince his father not to accept this girl and stop the use of the lottery system.

"I'll see you at home father."

With that said Daniel left his father's office and entered the waiting area, he needed to blow off some steam. Daniel make a beeline for the door with one thought in mind a sparring session at the gym.

*Front yard of Cigam Ymedaca*

Rosetta pulled into the front yard of her new school. Immediately someone took her bags from the trunk.

Leyla and Rosetta stared at each other with dumbfounded expressions. They were used to valet service and all but they didn't expect it to be at a school.

Someone approached Rosetta, he was wearing black slacks, with a white shirt and a navy blue vest with the school crest on it. He looked about the same age as her, he had chestnut brown hair and light brown eyes with a medium build and pouty lips.

He held out a white gloved hand towards her, Rosetta was slightly confused.

Does he want a tip or something Red?

I don't know.

Well what else could he want; surely not a hug.

Gabe chuckled at her own comment, Rosetta folded her lips to stop from smiling at the sarcastic remark that was made.

Someone cleared their throat, Rosetta focused back on the guy in front of her with his hand still outstretched and she herself still confused. She didn't have anymore bags the other valets took them and disappeared somewhere.

I should really inquire about that.

There was a burst of laughter from someone. From behind a column to the main building out stepped a boy wearing Cigam's uniform but the boy version.

Beige pants, the short sleeve version of the white shirt and a navy blue sweater vest with the school's crest. He had shaggy blonde hair and light pink eyes.

Oh, those eyes he's from a powerful lineage. Probably from a family that was in the Society of the Four.

The Society of the Four, I've heard about that but...later Gabe later.

Sure thing.

"He's asking for your keys, new girl."

Rosetta wanted to slap herself, of course her keys she never thought about it since she didn't see any garage area.

"Oh, Red we are complete duds. Of course he wanted the keys." Leyla said face plaming herself.

Rosetta handed over the keys to the valet. He went around to the driver side, "Wait there brown eyes."

The valet stopped and turned around to look at Leyla. The older if the Stone sisters hugged the little one and promised to call or text her when she got back to the city. She hopped back into the car and fastened her seatbelt.

The valet just looked at her from the driver's seat, "I am not taking a hover back to the city. You'll drive me there and bring the car back easy."

"I will not lose this job because of you." His voice was deep and smooth. Leyla blushed at the sound.

Did she..

...just blush?

If Gabe and Rosetta could look at each other they would have at that moment.

"Don't be such a stickler for the rules, Timothy. Take the girl home and if anything tell headmaster I approved it." That was pink eyes, he made his way over to stand beside Rosetta who was clutching her messenger bag.

Timothy chuckled and shakes his head, "As long as he roasts your ass instead of mine Will." With that the car squealed out of the front yard.

"Be careful!" Rosetta exclaimed after the dust cleared. She breathe a sigh of relief knowing that her sister was safely on her way home. She turned towards, this Will person.

He was standing there smiling and already looking at her. She was slightly startled but gave a small smile anyways. William chuckled at her reaction.

"I am William Morgenstern, your tour guide and first friend. Welcome to Cigam Ymedaca."

"Oh, I'm Rosetta Stone. Nice to meet you William."

"Why the formality, just call me Will everyone does. Let's go Cigam awaits."

With that William took her messenger bag off her shoulder and walked away up the stairs into the main building. She ran off to catch up to him.

They walked and talked, Rosetta felt really positive that Cigam was going to be good for her. Through the main building they arrived at the courtyard. On both sides of the courtyard there was pillars and a corridor from where they were standing it connects back with the other side.

Someone was walking more like rushing to a destination with a very upset posture. Daniel didn't see William escorting the root of his fustration around the main until they met up in the middle of the main building.

Rosetta was startled when they nearly crashed into another person, another student. He was wearing the same clothes as William. He had blonde hair with a few brown strands mixed in, his eyes were a vibrant green.

Hottie Alert!

Not now Gabe...

"Oh, Daniel where are you off to?"

"Hello Will, I'm going to the gym. Any problem?"

"No just wanted you to meet the new girl. Rosetta this is Daniel."

Daniel's green eyes turned a shade darker upon hearing her name with no explanation he just pushed passed the both of them and went on his way.

Okay correction, hottie with a complex.
