Chapter 2 - The Party

Liliana laughed after her best friend told her, she was nervous about going to a new school. She looked at her through her tears and even though she wanted to laugh again she composed herself instead.

"Oh Rose, please tell me your joking."

Rosetta looked at her friend conflicted, "Okay, I'll be honest two-thirds of the butterflies in my stomach is the excitement of seeing Nathan this evening and moving from home. The other one-third is nervousness." The girl said with a sheepish smile.

Liliana's baby blue eyes widen at the Nathan's name. Her attitude right then and there took a massive U-turn into boyville.

"Nathan Collins as in your crush Nathan Collins." Liliana asked.

Rosetta nodded her head, however, she wasn't prepared to be grabbed and hauled up the stairs away from the foyer and into her room so quickly.

"Lily." She groaned because the room was spinning now all for the fact that Liliana used her wind rush teleportation, which literally knocks the wind out of you and leaves you spinning but it's the fastest way of getting somewhere/disorienting your opponent in training or battle.

"No time to talk Red, I've got to find you a pair of heels with a killer dress not to mention decide on your makeup and..." She paused from inside her walk-in closet and turned to look at her, "...why the hell aren't you getting in the shower?" She questioned with a raised eyebrow.

Rosetta held up her hands and decided not to argue with her, instead she turned towards her queen sized bathroom leaving her friend to continue searching for a "killer dress".

As she entered, she turned to look at her full length mirror on the right wall. The bathroom was painted in a mix of midnight blue and light violet with intricate designs of butterflies in white.

She proceeded to strip out of the yoga suit she had on and entered the shower after setting the water to lukewarm.

Ahhh,nothing is better than warm water over pent up muscles. Am I right Ro?

I was wondering how you haven't made any commentary in the last five minutes, isn't that a new record?

Hahaha you missed me, that's sweet. What I want to know is if your gonna tell Nathaniel you like him tonight?

That's preposterous! I'd never...

Pounding sounded at her bathroom door, "Rose are you good in there? It's been forty-five minutes and you still haven't gotten out."

It was Liliana.

"I'm fine, Lily. I'll be out in next two minutes promise just cleaning up."

"Oh, thought you pruned up and drowned. I can't wait to see your face when you see this dress!" She said excited, followed by the faint sound of her steps moving away.

The voice in her head bursted out laughing, at least it resembled it.

C-cleaning u-up yourself pft that's a classic. You got a full Brazilian wax two days ago.

Don't remind me, it was painful as hell.

She stepped out of the shower and wrapped a fluffy indigo coloured towel around her. She looked at herself in the mirror. How her waist length flame coloured hair stuck to the back of her neck because of it being wet. Her lightly dusted pink lips, button nose and doe shaped violet-grey eyes. Her skin was caramel brown and smooth (Brazilian wax).

She stepped out of the bathroom to find Lily, texting with a huge grin on her face, "He's downstairs for godsake either you go to him or have him come up why you waste energy tapping away is beyond me."

Liliana looked up at her friend and gave a light laugh, "Oh, Rose you'll understand sooner or later...much rather sooner when Nathan sees you I this..." She stepped aside to showcase the dress that was on the mirror for tonight's party.

Well I'll be damned, your girl got style.

Rosetta stared at the bodycon dress which was designed in a wrapped style. The way it looked she could only assume that it showed off all the curves she continuously tries to hide.

The heels were strappy embellished gem encrusted stilettoes, in black to match the dress. Together they were head turning, jaw dropping and utterly gorgeous.

"If Nathan doesn't drool at you Rose then we know for sure that boy swing the other way."

Liliana got to work on fixing up Rosetta for her going away bash. The dress fit quite securely on her body and the heels brought her 5 feet 2 inches up to a 5 feet 5 inches.

The world up here seems so different, from where we were a minute ago.

Seriously girl you going with that, we're just 3 inches higher. Everything is the same.

Hey! Ever heard of the phrase a sense of humor huh?!?

Rosetta immediately shut off the connection with the voice in her head after that insult. She didn't need a uppity little pest telling her about humor, she was funny and she could make jokes.

"Lily?"

"Yeah, Rose."

"I'm funny right..." Liliana looked at Rosetta quite perplexed, "...I mean I make person's laugh in a good way I mean r-right??"

Liliana wondered what brought this on but she was quite used to Rosetta's peculiar behavior since they were kids.

She smiled at her through the mirror which Rose sat in front of staring at her patiently waiting for an answer.

"Of course your funny babe. Remember that one time when she who will not be named was mean to you in sci-magi class. You mixed things ridiculously sounding long ass name chemical with another. She had green warts all over her face for two semesters straight. That was the highlight of junior year."

The girls chuckled together at the memories that happened within their school. Then the laughter died out and sniffles started.

"Don't you dare cry Lily then I'd start crying and it'll be two hours more before were both presentable again." Rose sobbed.

They finished Rosetta's look with a updo hair that left a few tendrils framing her face. By the time they reached downstairs the party was in full swing.

"Here she comes looking hot as hellfire, our winner Rosetta Stone."

That was her sister on the mic no doubt she was half way to drunkville by now.

Everyone turned and clapped at her while she came down the stairs. At the front of the crowd stood Nathan he was smiling at her and giving a light applause, out of nowhere Julianne Moore appeared beside him.

To Rose it happened in slow motion to anyone else it took about 2 seconds. She twisted Nathan and planted a hot, passionate kiss on him like she's stamping him he's mine.

"Let the party begin!!!" Shouted Ley.

As the DJ turned up the music to some funky beat and everyone began dancing, the little pest turned and smiled at Rosetta before walking away and dragging Nathan along to the dance floor.
