As I pull into the partially deserted parking lot, considering I'm here a little earlier than usual, I grab a parking space, recline my seat, turn off the car, and leave the radio on 90.5 FM since I have nothing to do at the moment. Who would actually want to take the time out and go to school when you're early? Getting lost in the music, I catch myself lightly humming to the beat of *NSYNC's song, Bye, Bye, Bye. I miss those days. The days when songs weren't just random words from a first grader's spelling test. They were words from hormonal teenagers' hearts. Like me. Just as I'm starting to get comfortable and shut my eyes to relax. . . Bang! The sudden disruption lurched me forward in my seat and hit my head on the steering wheel, startled, causing the horn to blow. The pain makes me mumble and whine about unclean things. Bad unclean things. Like, things that would evidently make a nun cry. I quickly process what just happened in my mind and look out the window in search of the source of the noise. Outside is a hysterically laughing Jannat, more than likely laughing at me, but she soon sobers up after twenty seconds of trying to talk (and failing) and starts staring at me with a look on her face.
