Participation in the RichCreek annual ball for those in the business world is compulsory. Though the organizers might say otherwise, it is only a guise to seem not to impose attendance on the citizens. In the current sense, failure to attend brings about unfavorable accosting by members of the board in charge of the ball. The members seem to track you and whenever any of them meets a person who failed to attend, they drop not so subtle remarks about the person keeping himself/herself from the gathering and make sure to inform you about the fundraising made during the last ball. The main purpose of informing a non-attendee is to make you serve some kind of punishment by making insanely huge donations to the cause.
