Chapter 21: A Different Season
Years had passed since Amara and Michael got married. Their home was filled with laughter, love, and the noise of their children.
But Amara knew that every season of life came with its own challenges.
Michael's business had grown, and he was now spending more time away from home. At first, Amara struggled with the change.
One evening, she finally told him, “I miss the way things used to be.”
Michael looked at her carefully.
“I don't want success to make me lose the woman I love.”
From that day, they agreed to create time for each other.
Amara realized that marriage required constant effort. Love could not simply be left to grow by itself.
One afternoon, Amara visited Michael's office unexpectedly.
She saw him talking to a beautiful woman.
For a moment, an old fear returned.
Instead of creating a scene, Amara waited.
When Michael came home, she told him what she had seen.
He explained that the woman was a new business partner.
“I could have hidden it from you,” Michael said, “but I don't want secrets between us.”
Amara nodded.
She had learned to ask questions instead of assuming the worst.
Trust had become one of the strongest parts of their marriage.
Chapter 23: A Friend's Warning
Amara's friend Cynthia wasn't convinced that marriage could remain happy forever.
“Don't trust any man completely,” Cynthia warned. “They all eventually change.”
Amara smiled.
“I understand why you think that, but I don't believe every man is the same.”
Cynthia shook her head.
“Time will tell.”
Amara didn't argue.
She knew her marriage was not perfect, but she also knew what Michael had shown her through his actions.
Chapter 24: A Difficult Decision
Michael received an offer to expand his business into another state.
It was an opportunity that could make the family financially comfortable.
However, it would require a huge investment.
“I don't want to risk everything,” Amara said.
Michael respected her opinion.
They sat together and studied the numbers carefully.
Instead of making the decision alone, Michael listened to his wife's concerns.
Eventually, they decided to move forward—but carefully.
It was another reminder that marriage worked best when two people made important decisions together.
