Morning, March 24
Ann and Jason met at her office to plan the next calf study, as Paul and Gettelman had requested. Ann watched Jason searching his pockets for a pen and wondered how anyone so bright could be so disorganized. She tossed him one of hers. “So, what are the questions we have to answer about the virus?”
The room felt comfortable with just the two of them. It would have been crowded if Jennifer, Ann’s office-mate, had been there. The office was serviceable: fluorescent lights in the ceiling, pale yellow concrete block walls, and a tile floor the color of waxed dirt.
