12 –––––––– Ransom Even back in my human form, I had been able to still smell the little prick’s scent. It had burned my nose, coated the back of my throat, and made me want to cough. Wincing, I rubbed my ribs where Jordan had stabbed me with the glass. Fortunately, I’d been smart enough to keep a first-aid kit at the cabin and had bandaged myself up quickly. Lycan healed fairly quickly, but he’d gotten me good and I was still in a world of pain. By the time I reached the clearing, and my bike, I’d picked up on the scent of both Jordan and Hailey. It blew from the south. I climbed onto the motorcycle and started it. Knowing they were getting away, I dropped it into gear. The rear tire spit up gravel as I tore up the road and toward the other route, where their scent was coming from.
