Chapter 11 Thursday, April 7th KurtShe wobbled when her feet touched the ground. She grabbed the saddle horn and leaned against her horse. She swallowed a couple of times before loosening the cinch on her saddle and untying the thermos. “I didn’t expect to find you here.” Her voice broke. She tied her horse to the same branch as mine. I pulled my hat low over my eyes and looked toward the eastern horizon. The dark blue sky lightened to a pale blue. Only a few more minutes before the sun would make its grand entrance for the day. She plopped down next to me and folded her legs under her. She twisted the cap off the thermos and poured the black liquid into the cap. “Coffee smells great,” my voice scratched from unuse. “How long have you been here?” She offered me the cap. I shrugged.
