I knew that b***h set me up as soon as I saw the cops coming up the road. No time to hide anything, nowhere to run, and no way to deny what they saw. I could have pinned it all on my dad and gotten off with the, just doing what I was told, bit. Then the old man would have killed me.
I kept my mouth shut and let the d**k wad read me my rights. I knew my father would get his lawyers on it and have me out in no time. One of his lawyers was Kaylee's dad. I doubt he would be the first on the line to get me out of here though.
I sat a few days in jail. Watching the news and the feds cleaning out my father's warehouse. Fortunately for us, that particular warehouse was in Kaylee's name. Not that she knew that. If she did, she never would have called the cops. They will check those things for the trial in a few weeks, I am sure. I can't wait for her daddy to get wind of that.
I drove my black SUV that my father had dropped off at the jail straight to my house. Kaylee's s**t was gone. Her car was still there. I found my cell and called her number.
"I'm sorry the number you have dialed has been disconnected," a recording on the other end said.
I threw the cell across the room and screamed. How could she do this to me? How could she turn me in, and leave me high and dry after everything I have done for her? I was the best husband to her. I would have been the best father. I gave her everything she ever wanted and then some. This is how she treats me? I am mad, fuming mad. The only person who will know where that spoiled b***h went is her dad. I search and find my phone dialing his number.
"Spelling Law, How can I help you?" He says in a chipper voice.
"Listen up you son of a b***h, you're going to tell me where that b***h went, and you're going to tell me now!" I was shouting louder than I thought I would.
"What are you talking about, Arlo?" He asked in a frantic voice.
"Your daughter, you dumbass. She left me! Took all her s**t and left her car. Got a new number too!"
He paused, it sounded like he was crying. "She cleaned out her trust fund and savings last night. The bank called and told me this morning since I am a signer on that account." He paused, "she didn't leave a note?"
"You didn't know she was leaving? How much money does she have?"
"Enough to go wherever she wants, I'm afraid."
My anger was growing by the second. If her old man didn't even know where she was, how the f**k would I ever find her?
I couldn't say anything else to him while he was sobbing on the phone, so I just hung up.
The next number I dialed was my father's.
"Bring her to me. " He demanded upon answering.
"No can do pops." I was trying to stifle my anger, but I wasn't doing a very good job.
"Why the f**k not?" He yelled into my ear.
"Because the b***h left me! She took all her s**t, cleaned out her accounts and left me! She got a new phone and left her car, so I couldn't even track her!"
My father was silent for a moment before saying "Don't worry son, we will find her. Just focus on playing the heart-broken husband for the media and staying out of trouble while this trial is going on." After that he hangs up.
What am I supposed to do now? How could that b***h just leave me like that? She will never find someone to please her the way that I did. She will come crawling back to me. She needs me. If she doesn't come back, I'll find her.
I notice that I am pacing. I sat down and turned the TV on. The news is showing the coverage of our story. I see Kaylee from the night that it happened. I hit record on the TIVO remote and clicked it off. I can't watch this right now. It will only piss me off more. I pour myself a drink as my phone buzzes with a text from my father's right-hand man.
Malachi Boss says you have an interview with the media in the morning. He says to play the heartbroken husband and ignore any questions about the bust.
Arlo Got it.
I toss my phone on the couch and decide that getting drunk is the best way to bring out the heartbreak in myself. I will make her regret ever leaving. If she thought she had it rough before, just wait till I find her. I'll make sure she never leaves again.
