Michael nodded in understanding and took a step back. It was all Kane needed. He vanished into the night leaving Michael and the jaguars with mixed emotions.
“What the hell did you do that for?” Nick yelled accusingly at Michael. “We should have known better than to trust a damn vampire.”
“Kane’s not the bad guy, Nick. But if we follow him, he can lead us to the bad guy.” Michael explained and knelt down, picking up a com-link from the ground. He inhaled the scent on it then tossed it in Warren’s direction. “I think it’s best if we split up.”
