Chapter 14

Olivia pov I woke up around six pm and freshened up to go downstairs. As soon as I get off I see my mom in the arms of a gentleman I have never seen. Paul sees me and comes towards me. "Baby, do you feel better?" "Yes, I'm fine. What's going on here? Mom, why are you crying?" I say and go to her place. She gets up and looks at me with a smile. "Honey, we need to talk" "I think we should leave them alone," says Kevin, and they all leave the living room. I hold Paul's hand. "Can you stay?" he smiles at me "Of course, come and sit down. There are many things you need to learn," he tells me and I sit down. The man smiles and holds my mom's hand. "Honey, do you remember when I got sick I told you about your father " "Yes, you said it was not his fault that he left. And then to protect me you left and came to New York with my grandparents to be safe," she smiles at me. "Yes, I did that. We left the city where I grew up and met your father, we came here, we even changed our name." "That's why I didn't find you as much as I searched," says the man and takes my mom's hand. She smiles at him. "Did you look for us? Mom. Does he mean?" she approaches me and rests her hands on mine "Honey, this is your father. He is a friend of Paul's family. He happened to be here and we immediately remembered each other," she tells me with tears in her eyes. "So what happens now?" I ask with a smile. "If you still want me in your life, I would very much like to stay and live with you," he tells my mother and then looks at me "and get to know my daughter and grandchildren," he tells me with a smile. He is blonde with green eyes like mine and a little beard. Tall and husky for his age. I make him around fifty. Charming and handsome. I don't wonder why my mom fell in love with him and after so many years she didn't forget him nor did she have another man next to her. "I will not stand in the way. Only I know how many nights you cried for this man and how much you wanted to be with him. You are free to do whatever you want. As for me, I can not deprive my children of their grandfather. And I would be happy I want to know you very much”. I tell him and I smile. After we had the conversation he invited us to dinner to get to know each other better. My mother told me that they would stay together now, and that means that when my father leaves for Paris, she will follow him. I cant say no to this, twenty-five years apart. There is no longer any obstacle to being together and they deserve to be together. "It was a long day today," Paul tells me as we enter the house. "Yes. I'm tired, I want a hot bath and you can massage my swollen feet. Please" I tell him with puppy eyes. He approaches me and holds me by the hand. "Of course baby. I don't need these puppy eyes to convince me. I would do it anyway. Come on" he pulls me by the hand. As the tub fills with water, he takes off my clothes. He kneels in front of me and kisses my belly. He smiles at me "I love you all," he tells me "We love too, daddy," I say to him and caress his cheek. He smiled at me and the night went as promised.
