PART FIVE: NINA. [A hazy evening]
I woke up in a panic, sweating and gasping for air…. A pair of warm, protective arms wrapped around me, but in my panic, I just kept shoving them away…and they just kept finding their way around me. “Shh…it’s okay…it’s okay Nina…” His voice brought me back to my senses. I looked up at his face, and I couldn’t stop the cascade of tears that poured down my cheeks then. He held me in his arms as tightly as he could, and rubbed my back trying to comfort me. I couldn’t get a hold of myself and kept sobbing uncontrollably in his arms, crying out loud…in a way I had very rarely cried before. But no matter how violent my body was shaken by the tears, he made sure to keep holding me. And he kept doing so, until the morning sun rays filtered in through the window.
