Dane and I were guided inside the orphanage.
The staff were unbearably nice, making me think that Dane poured a lot of money into this transaction. They did not even dare to hide the excitement on their faces as we signed the documents confirming the transaction we made.
I despise to term it like this since it is detrimental to Rose’s name, but we definitely signed a sale instead of adoption papers. These ruthless caretakers loved the ‘donation’ Dane offered to further ‘improve’ the orphanage.
Their creepy smile almost made me want to take back that shiny cheque, leaving them with nothing in the end. Unfortunately, doing so also means that I will not be able to have Rose.
