Chapter 24 – Nightmare

“Kyah!”
The laughter died like it never happened. Only the shriek of the three people in front of me made it to my ears as a big truck went our way.
The driver of the truck was filled with guilt as his vehicle made contact with ours, signing the demise of all of us. On his lips, I read the apologies that I don’t want to accept no matter what.
The beautiful memory that we had a moment ago flashed through my mind. I could still remember how Zara sang brightly while sitting on my mother’s lap, enjoying her warm hug. My father smiled warmly as he turned his attention to the road. It was as if we were living in a fairytale, in a happily ever after that we finally obtained after four long years.
