Chapter 9 – Blooming Love

Chapter 9 – Blooming Love * * * Our faces were still flushed when we stepped outside the classroom. Hand in hand, Isabella and I walked out of the school as if it was the most natural thing to happen. Somehow, I was expecting Daisy to suddenly pop in, berating us two from head to toe. Fortunately, not even her shadow showed up, maintaining the romantic relationship between Bella and me. “Dane…about Daisy. Could I please handle her end? I think she only needs to have a sincere conversation with another woman.” I frowned at that thought. Just thinking about it made me want to shiver in fear and anxiety. There is no way that Daisy will obediently sit down just to listen to a random person who wants to come in between us. People could call me a narcissistic Chad for all I care, but the truth about Daisy and I will never be twisted. She will not accept it that easily. Sweat started forming on my forehead as random s**t made it to my mind. “Ahm. I will handle it on my own. Don’t worry, Bella. I’m sure Daisy will make it easier for me.” I squeezed Bella’s palm, trying to put her mind at ease. At the same time, I landed a kiss on her forehead, savoring the memory we had back in the classroom. What is happening right now is just too good to be true, but denying this miracle is an utter act of blasphemy. Bella returned that act by hugging me tightly. The desolate hallway then became another witness to our new affair. We only separated when we both had enough of the heat coming from each other's bodies. It did not take long before we bid our goodbyes. Bella walked me to the gate of the school before she went back for some club activities. I had always been a part of going home class since socializing with other people had never been my forte. Well, Daisy’s existence contributed a lot to that fact. We spent almost all our lifetimes together, leading to what I currently am right now. Of course, I couldn’t blame it all on Daisy since I chose to be this way. I love how free I am. A sigh came out of my lips as I traveled back home. I know that my current happiness could only be complete after I deal with Daisy. The thing between us should be completed the earlier the better. I already prepared my mind to see a woman in her beast mode, but a little sacrifice in dealing with my childhood friend. I breathed deeply before I pressed the Haige’s doorbell. A few seconds then minutes passed by, but not a soul answered my call. I pressed for the second time then the third until Daisy’s mother came running down the door. She was wearing this frantic face when she opened the door. As always, I greeted her with a bright smile. Something that she has loved from me since I was young. She had been friends with my mother since they were in school and eventually became our neighbor when she got married. More than a kind neighborhood auntie, I looked up at this woman like my second mother. Truthfully, I couldn’t understand where Daisy got her attitude when her parents are naturally likable. Even Daisy’s father displays a gentle demeanor. I never saw him acting inappropriately. Daisy was nurtured in this lovely family, yet I couldn’t help but grunt at the disappointment that she turned into. “Hi, Aunt. Can I talk to Daisy, please? I needed her for something.” Ayan Haige, Daisy’s mother, smiled sweeter than before. She lightly tugs the shawl she is wearing before giving her full attention to me. Aside from their calm attitude, I couldn’t help but be amazed by how pretty Aunt Ayan could be. This feature of hers is the only thing that Daisy was able to inherit from her mother. She could’ve been perfect if not for her devilish acts and hateful obsession. “Sorry, Dane. Daisy hadn’t come home. I thought that you were still together. Did something come up in school?” I wanted to frown but I held it in. Like me, Daisy had always been an awkward butterfly in socializing with others. She has neither friends nor any acquaintances to hang up with. She spent her days bugging me like a persistent cat, hissing to all other females who accidentally looked my way. “Sorry. I’m not really sure. I was held by something, so I thought that she already traveled back on her own. Anyway, thanks, Aunt Ayan. I’ll just call her later.” We bid our goodbyes and brushed off Daisy’s matter in my mind. There is always another chance to have an honest conversation and it’s not like not doing it today will be the end of the world. However, that other day turned into another day and another until a month passed by. This is the first time that this long time has passed without me seeing Daisy’s presence. I rang their doorbells so many times that I already lost count of it. Time and time again, Aunt Ayan will welcome me, giving the same reason for Daisy’s absence. I couldn’t understand it at first until Bella told me that she had already spoken to Daisy and that they had an understanding that she would never disturb me again. I did not believe it at first, but what is there to doubt when Daisy herself did not show up in front of me? If she wanted it this way, then who am I to interfere with her new life? Enjoying my youth with Isabella is much more important than caring about Daisy’s tantrum. Moreover, the situation between us turned into sweeter doses of medicines after we announced our relationship to our classmates. We received some side glances but that was the gist of it. What is important is that Bella and I are living the best of life. So harmonious that we don’t mind being trapped in a shed as we await the last drop of the cold rain.
