“So…So…So, Dane promised me that I would be a queen again. He said all I have to do is take Rose away…”
It was the same statement she said a while ago. Nevertheless, I sat still and held my breath for as long as I could. Butting in would only interfere with her for the worst.
“…I did as he told. But I don’t know what happened next. The man said that Rose was not his child and that I just made a big fool of him. I didn’t know what to do, so I left Rose in a big house with a lot of children. I bet she would be happy in that place…”
My hand, which was gently patting my mother’s back, froze for a second. I could only be thankful that she was looking at the floor since there was no doubt that this woman would run away after seeing my expression.
