“Oh my God…” I breathed, staring at the man who had just entered the hall. “Is that really the CEO of Luketech?”
Lucas’ hand brushed mine lightly as he leaned closer. “What?”
I whispered, barely moving my lips, “Lucas… that’s him, right? You said you convinced him to give me that contract. I should thank him.”
Lucas snorted before he could stop himself.
“That’s not the CEO,” he said quietly. “That’s his assistant.”
I blinked. “How do you even know what his assistant looks like?”
He gave me a flat look. “Because I’ve met him.”
I rolled my eyes. “Whatever. But why is he here?”
“I don’t know,” Lucas murmured, his voice dropping. “Let’s see.”
