We walked for hours in a direction I couldn’t even recognize. It was a cold and windy night. I was so tired at the time and needed to rest.
Since we were avoiding the major roads, we took a detour and arrived at an open field. Clint and I fell to the ground and lay on the grass.
“It’s still your birthday and we haven’t even had alone time,” he said.
“Yeah, I guess,” I replied.
“Close your eyes. I have a surprise for you,” he continued.
