"Good. When you were calling me, I didn't know my phone was ringing it was in silence because I went to meet my alpha alongside my parents. We had something of great importance to discuss, that's why I didn't get to see your text quickly, because cell phones aren't allowed in the pack house for a whole bunch of reasons that's why you couldn't get to me those years I was away. So while we were discussing, My Alpha excused me from the meeting, that he had something to discuss to the ears of my parents alone. So I stepped out for a bit and took my phone out of its hidden place, that was when I saw your missed calls, I tried calling you back but it wasn't going through which is very unusual. I then saw your text, it was then I knew you were in danger. So I rushed back in to tell my parents about it. They were dumbfounded especially mum, she didn't expect your parents would do such a cruel thing to you. They brought suggestions but none was good enough, not until I told my Alpha that you were alpha Liam's mate did he come up with a good solution which was me going to Alpha Liam's town to give him the news, though it was far but with the help of a magical box I was able to get here in time to deliver the message to him. I showed him the text and he left in less than seconds to find you, I wanted to go with him but he said no that I should wait for you here and watch over his pack for him until he returns back with you, Clara. He left his pack's safety to a complete stranger which was against the rules all because he wants you home. He couldn't let you be sold to the eastern warlord because you are his mate, the love of his life, the one fated to be with him. So Clara don't you ever call him a monster, he brought you back safe to me. Else I would never have forgiven myself if something bad had happened to you. So never ever call him a monster you hear me? He went through a lot to find you, while I was here hoping and praying he gets to you before you reach the Easterners' territory else there is nothing anyone of us could have done to bring you back home. So do me a favour, if you have ever treated me as your friend forgive him even if he did nothing wrong in telling you the truth about himself even if he did nothing wrong to warrant such hatred from you, forgive him Clara. Cause I don't know who on earth would sacrifice a lot for someone he barely met months ago like he did, you."

Hearing Gabe's words about me to her made me somewhat emotional that I had to go back to bed. It touched my heart knowing he views me that way.

Chapter 13

Listening to everything Gabe said she broke down in tears on Gabe's shoulders. And this revelation made her feel somewhat guilty for judging Liam's intention towards her. She wasn't the unforgiving type, I guess its because of what her family just did to her that made her feel everyone she cares about will eventually if not has betrayed her. So coupled with the thought that the person she was falling in love with isn't human is hard to take in, so she cried her eyes out until midnight when Gabe then gestured for her to go in to get some rest because it was really cold out there.

"Clara its getting pretty cold out here your body is cold, so go inside to rest." Gabe said after observing she was shivering due to the cold breeze.

"Okay Gabe, thank you"

"Don't stay mad at him okay? Give him time, Let him explain himself to you okay?"

"Okay thank you, goodnight Gabe"

"Goodnight Clara see you tomorrow"

"See ya"

With that said Gabe left for his temporary room given to him by Eric while Clara heads back upstairs.

The door to the room opened slowly and Clara entered the room, she couldn't find anyone in the bed like she had hoped. She wanted to see Liam and maybe talk to him a little bit by thanking him for saving her life. But Liam wasn't in the room. He was in his study. He couldn't meet her gaze since she views him as a monster, so it is best if he stayed away.

Since its midnight already today will be her 19th birthday but she was in no mood to talk about it, she is just grateful to her creator that she is still free and not a slave like her family had planned out for her. Since she was the only one in the room, she now has time to indulge in what's bothering her deep within.

'Are the coopers really my family? How could they proudly sell me off like that? It would make sense if I wasn't their daughter. But if I was, why would they be happy to sell me off like that to someone else all for their selfishness. Mom why call her that? Anyways she isn't my mom I hate her now. Clarissa never for once treated me well, I thought maybe its because I was the first daughter that's why they wanted me to be the best but now everything is clear, I was always the odd one out. The stupid one amongst them, the one who always does their bidding. I am more like a slave to them already.

No worries they've lost their daughter and I will never ever go back or forgive them for what they've done never. I will become someone great someday and when I do, they will regret everything that they had done.'

Today was Clara's birthday but she was far away from home, no one except Gabe knew about it and now wasn't the time to celebrate it, even if they knew what can they do? Nothing, no matter how they love her they weren't family and it would never be the same way.

After thoughts like this with tears in her eyes she drifted to sleep. The next morning Liam summoned up the courage to go to her, also it was his room. It was big enough for both of them. Sooner or later, they will have to see each other more often, because there is no way he would take her back to her house. So they need to learn to coexist in there.

He went downstairs to the kitchen first, so he could bring her breakfast she must be starving really bad.

The maids who saw him in the kitchen were like shocked to see Alpha liam preparing a tray of breakfast himself so they were amazed when he took baked bread, a cup of milk, fried eggs and some grilled chicken everything eatable that he could find in there.

On seeing this the maids knew those weren't for him, because he never takes fried eggs so who is this breakfast for they wonder. But that is all they can do, wonder.

After filling up the tray Liam raced upstairs after which he entered into the room. Hoping to see Clara sleeping so she wakes her up and serves her breakfast in bed. But to his surprise she wasn't on the bed. So he walked up to the little table and placed the tray of food. Then he scanned through and finds out she was in the shower.

He was about to write something to attach to the tray of food but Clara walked out of the bathroom with a towel tied around her chest.

It made Liam and Cole his wolf somewhat hypnotized. They both couldn't control their feelings cause they were aroused by the look before them.
