Few days later, just like he said he would contact her he did.

"My master said bring the merchandise to him soon and here is an upfront payment"

"Wow!! I knew your master will love it. Thank you for the upfront payment I will be sure to deliver it soon"

"You better, don't make any mistakes, else you will face the wrath of my master if that happens"

"Yeah sure sire I will, believe me"

And so the merchant left

Holding that huge amount of money made her heart glad, first thing is first, I need to make my nails I have been looking unkept for far too long. After which I will head to the hospital to book down an appointement for my husband before it is too late. But before that let me break the news to him first.

"Caleb honey, you will be cured of your illness soon enough, I assure you." Clarissa said reassuringly to her husband who was lying down.

"How do you plan to raise such huge amount of money Clarissa?"

"I may have an idea one that would put a smile on your very face. Just trust me I will get you treated soon enough and in no time you will be hale and hearty"

"Okay I trust you"

Two days after the incident, Clarissa was in her room with her husband Caleb discussing

"Okay tell me your plans and how you got to raise half of the money" Caleb said waiting for a response from his wife Clarissa.

"I overheard someone saying something about a woman selling off her child to the notorious ruler in the far away east due to hunger and debts while I was in the salon making my nails.Then I recalled, we have a similar problem, ours is even worse than hers. We lack funds, our kids seem like beggars now, you lost your job not just that you are sick on top of that. As if this is not enough Xander our only son and first born is going out there gambling, squandering what we have left and incurring more debts. What about me? I have become a laughing stock among my friends and is being gossiped about wherever I go that I can't take care of my family. That the almighty coopers are as poor as church rats when we could actually become rich in blink of an eye. When the means to be filthy rich is at the tip of our fingers Caleb"

"Where are you going with this Clarissa?"

"I am talking about selling off someone in our household to the notorious and mysterious man"

"And who may I ask are you going to sell off? Olivia or Xander?"

"Neither that's the most exciting thing Caleb, we don't need to sell any of our kids"

"We are to sell off someone else? By chance is it....? No way."

"Yes way, its exactly who you are thinking about"

"Wow!! Clarissa you continue to surprise me with your brilliant ideas" Caleb said

"But of course I am the smartest one in the family after all and its a gift"

Unknown to them few minutes back Clara was about to make them cold juice so as to help with the hot weather. When she was about to knock, she heard them half way into the conversation. So she decided to eaves drop more so as to get to the bottom of this.

"So when are you going to make the trade?"

They continued their discussions unaware of the fact that Clara was at the door

"Tonight, she wouldn't even know we are coming for her. So what we'll do to get her out of the house is send her to go get snacks outside that's where the guy who dropped the half payment will capture her and the remaining money will be sent to us"

Clara quickly ran upstairs not knowing what to do cause it's almost evening

Clara's POV

Since my parents are home, I decided to go make slight juice for them. I wanted to knock on the door, what I heard was not making sense.

So they want to sell me off to that wicked and notorious ruler of the east? Rumour has it that Once sold you are never coming back from that place. So why would my parents want to sell me off just so they can pay for some bills?

It's almost evening how do I wriggle my way out of this? I better call on Gabe.

She picked up the phone and dialed Gabe's number it rang but there was no response. She called again and again but Gabe wasn't answering. So she decided to send a text instead it reads,

"Gabe, am freaking out right now, I over heard what I shouldn't have. My parents are planning to sell me off tonight. To the east, remember that dangerous place we heard about when we were still kids? Yeah that's the one, help me I don't know how else to leave cause it seems I am being watched closely please help me Gabe I need your help I have no one else to turn to"

After sending that to Gabe, she knelt down and began praying for help from the creator or whoever was listening.

Clara began freaking out. She still couldn't bring herself to call liam because she was still mad at him. So Gabe was her only choice at the moment..

'Where did Gabe go to today of all days? He has always been picking up my calls' Clara thought.

Just then her bed room door opened...

Gabe had went to visit Alpha Xavier's pack where he belonged along with his parents they had a meeting with him. So he didn't know his phone was ringing cause it was on silence. And they had a lot to talk about his training and everything. So he had no idea what his only friend is about to go through at the moment.

"Your son has improved greatly over the years through rigorous training, he has been always diligent and its his hard work that brought him where he is. Truth be told he is one of the few strongest ones we have here in this pack" Alpha Xavier said to them during the meeting

"Oh thank you Alpha it means so much to hear that from you" his parents Lyle and Mary replied enthusiastically to him.

"Okay, Um Gabe you can go out now Your parents and I have something of great importance to talk about. Go have fun with the pack" Alpha Xavier said to Gabe of which he bowed and went outside.

It was at this moment he took out his phone what he saw was shocking.. 30 missed calls from Clara and a text message?

He couldn't think on what to do. He decided to call her to see if she was still around but her phone was switched off.

He races back inside and called out for help to Alpha Xavier that his best friend is being sold by the Coopers. This revelation shocked Lyle and Mary.

So they asked

"What do you mean the Cooper are selling their own child?" Mary asked her son with all seriousness, she has always loved Clara

"Where did she say she is being sold to?" Lyle asked

"The text said she is to be sold to the eastern part" Gabe said while panicking cause he has heard about how that place is.

"The eastern warlord, s**t"

"Oh no, not to the eastern ruler" Mary gasped out of fear

"How could they do this to their child? We are miles away from town and even if we are to race down there we may not get there in time" Lyle said

"One more thing" Gabe said arousing their interests

"What is it speak up son"

"Clara Cooper is Alpha Liam's mate"

"What?" Everyone shocked at this new revelation.
