Chapter 22 Emergency call

1235 Words
While everyone was in a panic, Lucio was trying to call everyone in the mansion but couldn't get a hold of any of them. Selda cried very loudly to get the attention of everybody. She called for maintenance to rescue Aria, who was trapped. This has caught the attention of Alexander and Keila, who are now resting in their rooms. "What's all the commotion all about?" Alexander asked Selda. Selda was very nervous about what was happening. Selda made a report to her boss. "Head Master, Madam Aria was in the elevator. We are scared that she will be in deep trouble." "What? How did it happen? Everything here is highly maintained to be in good working condition. Where is the maintenance person? Call an ambulance immediately!" The voice of the Head Master was deafening. It was too loud and everybody in the mansion was on high alert. "The maintenance team is already working on the rescue and the ambulance is already on its way. I am afraid about the safety of the babies," Selda exclaimed while holding her breath. While Keila turned her back and proceeded to the elevator to take a glimpse. The Head Master followed her, who looked too restless. They have noticed a call from Lucio, but they do not have the guts to answer the call. They just stared at each other and would put their phones in silent mode. "I got her. Please be more careful," the personnel said. They are losing the courage to take a look at Aria, who is unconscious at that time. "Oh my God, she has lost so much water. Where's the ambulance? They must be here. She is in critical condition," the personnel again shouted in urgency. Then there's the siren coming. The staff hurriedly got the patient out of the estate. Alexander joined the rescue team at the hospital while Keila stayed. Selda prepared all her belongings and the baby's stuff. "You must be in the hospital as soon as possible," Alexander advised Selda. Then, he looked back at his daughter. "Keila, you should drive Selda to the hospital," Alexander ordered. "Yes, that I will do, Head Master!" they answered, and took the stairs to Aria's room. Selda opened the cabinet to take Aria's clothes and the baby bags. Selda ran to the ample parking lot. Keila wasn't there, so she had to wait much longer. In a matter of twenty minutes, Keila is already in the car, ready to take the trip. Aria was moved to the emergency room as soon as she arrived at the nearest hospital. Alexander talked to the nurses and the doctors to take care of Aria. "Promise me to do your best to save all of them!" the famous Head Master has said. It was a private hospital, and Moreau was one of its biggest capitalists. Medical practitioners are too busy monitoring and treating Aria. The doctor approaches Alexander, who is sitting outside the emergency room. "We need to proceed with the operation," the doctor proposed. "Do what is necessary!" Alexander commanded, and the medical expert did go back to work. Keila and Selda arrived with their luggage. They proceeded to book a private room for Aria, and they waited in the room for updates. "I hope Madam Aria will overcome this! This would be really hard for Young Master if something bad happened to his family," Selda uttered in a very soft and sad voice. Keila stayed silently like she was not hearing anything. On the other hand, Lucio was anxious and couldn't rest. He's been trying to call Aria, but her phone and everyone in the mansion is out of reach. "What's happening to you all?" Lucio murmured. He decided that if no one would take his call, he would be forced to take a flight home. "I do not have a good feeling about this," he uttered. The night had passed, and he was restless. He called the head pilot to send him home to Siquijor. At exactly four in the morning, they left Manila. He just sent a message to his secretary that he would be on emergency leave. "Everything looks normal," he whispered as he looked around. He noticed that Keila's car was not in the parking area. He went straight to their room to check on Aria, but she wasn't there. "Aria?" he called out, but no one was responding. He had seen her phone on the side table. He checked in the shower room, in the attic, and everywhere, but he couldn't see her shadow anywhere. This made him more uneasy. He ran towards the kitchen and the dining area. She couldn't see Selda anywhere in the house. "Where's everyone?" he asks the kitchen staff. "They went to the hospital last night. Ma'am Aria was admitted to the hospital," the staff answered. "What happened to Aria? It is not her due yet," Lucio interrogated the personnel. The staff replied and provided the hospital name where Arias was admitted. He ran quickly to get his car and drive his way to the hospital. He did not have breakfast because he was more concerned about his wife's current situation. "Where is Aria? What happened to my wife?" he was shouting, crying when he saw his father outside the emergency room. "Lucio, why are you here?" Alexander said, surprised. "I have been calling but no one dared answer my call. Where is Aria and what happened to her?" Lucio repeatedly questioned his father. "Sorry, we did not have the courage to answer your call. We do not want you to worry. The doctors are doing their best to save them," Alexander explained. Lucio answered angrily, "She was my wife, and I have all the right to know about what's going on with her." He couldn't control his temper. He was so mad that he wasn't made aware. "You did not tell me what led her to the hospital bed?" Lucio asked again. "She was trapped in the elevator. We had no idea how it happened. It occurred the first time and it just so happened that she was there inside. I am sorry! I'll make sure this won't happen again," Alexander explained his side of the story. They were talking when the doctor came out of the room. Lucio approached him to have a talk about his wife. "Good thing you were able to bring her immediately before she lost too much blood. She almost lost the babies. Right now, she needs to have enough rest. Everything is stable and the babies are safe. Congratulations!" he said in his congratulatory message to Lucio. They are relieved upon hearing the doctor's explanation. "Thank you so much, Doc!" Alexander responded as he shook his hand. The doctor taps both their shoulders and proceeds to their next appointment. "Please wait for them to be transferred to their room," the doctor said. Alexander and Lucio decided to proceed to the reserved room for Aria. They have found Keila and Selda, who is now sleeping inside. They both looked weary, as seen in their eyes. They must be here early. "Young Master!" Selda said in a soft and low voice. She sounded worried and sad about what happened. "No need to worry, Selda, they are now in a good state according to the doctor." Lucio declared. "Thank God!" Selda cried and could not stop herself from sobbing.
