Oliver tossed him towards two other guards, glaring at him with disdain. “Let her figure out what to do with him.” Adam’s feet never touched the ground as they dragged him to Katherine’s study. They threw him into the room, sprawled by her feet, as she loomed above him. Her face was murderous, as if she were barely holding it together. To Adam’s surprise, she turned the full force of her anger on Oliver, at least for now. “You i***t,” she sneered. “How could you have let this happen?” Oliver tried to defend himself, rubbing the back of his head. No doubt Adam left him with a swelling bruise.
