Chapter 7-5

841 Words

The ropes holding me in place loosened and I fell forward, my muscles too strung to function properly. A fat hand grabbed me by the collar and yanked me up. Dizzy, I forced my head up and willed my eyes to focus. Had I passed out? What was going on? My lungs wheezed as I drew in a breath and my whole body hurt from the abuse. My eyelids felt heavier than lead and keeping them open was a task on its own. I needed to be able to see what was going on so I could escape. Or maybe I should give in to the tormenting and let my conscious mind slip away. The promise of eternal sleep was alluring. It would take me away from my torturer and stop the harrowing pain that had my body in its grip. If I stopped fighting, I could fall into a slumber that would protect me from the horrors of this world.
