Situation Five

Time went by slowly and seven days has gone but still mark had nothing to report to Vincent on Lotus and Rafael. Or maybe the Warner's had it all planned out. Although it's been 15 years since the incident, Vincent still find it had to let go of the past because he his fully aware that if let his guard down for even the slightest millisecond, the past will haunt him and tear him apart. He also noticed that Julian have become brighter this days since the appearance of Lotus and just like he cant stand to see his best friend happy he can't stand to see the son happy either. So he told mark to increase the number of undercover security around Julian by five percent to make sure he doesn't find out the truth.

While Vincent was trying to prevent Julian from unveiling the dirt from 15 years ago, Julian was busy using his new found feelings for Lotus to suppress his guilt from 8 years ago and he also realize that Lotus wasn't all that bad. She was just trying to survive too. So he stopped digging into her past and his nightmares stopped coming. He was delighted that he was finally slipping away from the nightmare he created 8 years ago. He feared that if Lotus had appeared a little bit late those nightmares would have become a big reality.

In the past seven days, Julian taught Lotus about the remote systems, ping utility, ICMP protocols, the paranoid system administrator, port scan, o switch and the OS detection. He told her about the FTP(21), h***:(86), TCP, UPP, port 22 and SSH.

After the day lesson, they followed the same routine that they have developed in the past seven days, getting to know each other as normal civilians but most time Julian did all he talking. He has told her everything about himself except the incidents from 15 years ago and 8 years ago. Lotus also told him a thing or two about herself. Things like how she met her ex- boyfriend , how she introduced him to her family, how her father strongly opposed him because he was an orphan and he was under the guardian of a powerful figure and how she left home because of her father opposition to the man she loved.

Surprisingly the things in Lotus story was exactly what happened between Julian and Claire but there was a difference. On the day Lotus boyfriend was supposed to propose to her he died but on the day Julian was supposed to propose to Claire he broke up with her.

"Thinking again?" Lotus asked Julian as it has become an habit.

"I must have spaced out again?" Julian who was supposed to be getting ready to go home said

"So, what were you thinking about this time" Lotus asked

"Well, am just thankful to your boyfriend for dying, so that i could met you" He replied genuinely

"Is this how you ask someone on a date?" Lotus teased

"Noo!" Julian said in self defense

"Well, take" Lotus said throwing Julian her car keys as she stood up

"What am i supposed to do with this?" Lotus refused to answer and walked out while Julian followed her outside

"You are driving me home" Lotus announced

"What? But..." Julian tried to protest

"No buts. I know you found out where I live already but professional courtesy is keeping you from breaking in and am grateful. Besides after tonight we won't be coming to the restaurant again. You will officially start at my home tomorrow."

"It's not like I have a choice. Just get in." Julian said. They got into the car and he drove off

"Good night" Julian said to lotus once they were in front of her house.

"How will you get home" Lotus asked

"I will get a cab back to the restaurant to get my car" he replied

"Ok. Good night" Lotus said and was leaving

"Wait..." Julian called "I was thinking that if and only if i asked you out, will i get a yes?"

"I wouldn't know unless you ask"

"Ok. Good night"

"Good night."

"Wait lotus... This is crazy but will you please be my girlfriend?"

"How am i supposed to say no when you gaze at me like that"

"Well I will take that as a yes"

"I didn't..." she tried to protest but it was to late

"Good night." Julian said and ran off like a kid who just got himself a candy
