Chapter 8
The next morning, Keplar decided to see if he could find Shawn Monday at his job. Pulling into the Mobil station, he saw a young man pumping gas. Walking up to him, “Are you Shawn Monday?”
“Yes, what can I do for you?” c*****g his head, “You’re Chief Keplar, right?”
“You remember our little talk on the lake. Good, so you know why I’m here.”
“I do. Let me finish up here and then we can sit in your truck to talk.”
“I’ll wait for you in the truck.”
A few minutes later, Shawn joined Keplar. Shivering a little, “It’s cold out there, glad to see you have the heater on.”
“Let me get right to the point. Did you know Bishop Dorland?”
Swallowing hard, “No, I knew who he was, but that’s all.”
