Chapter 33
The evening was full of surprises. He found his parents sitting in the living room with Rose. They were all drinking coffee and smiling at him. His mother got up quickly and gave him a kiss on the cheek and a big hug. His dad stayed put and held out his hand, “Good to see you, son.”
“How did you guys get here? I didn’t see your car.”
“Rose picked us up so we could surprise you, dear.”
“You certainly did that and a wonderful surprise it is.”
“We’re taking you out to dinner at that new steak house on Osseo Road,” his dad said.
“Let me take a shower, take me ten minutes and then we can be off.”
Rose followed him into the bathroom, “This was okay, wasn’t it?”
Wrapping her up in his arms, “You are so thoughtful. I’m happy you set this up. I don’t see them often enough.
