Chapter 24There were no dreams that night. Felicity figured that was to be expected. Hadn’t she reached the end of the line, in so many ways? She was resistant to her own unconsciousness, so even if she caved and slept for fifteen minutes or so here and there before shooting awake, she wasn’t going to dream. She’d read in enough books—or enough websites online before all the ads made her phone buggy—that the profound kind of dreams that everyone had, not just her, often happened in those three hours before you woke up.
