The old woman's spell intensified. It felt like they were tearing the world out of me, thread by thread. My skin burned, my veins turned to fire, and every breath came with the struggle for air. I could feel my magic fighting back, clawing at my insides, screaming to stay. But the pull was stronger. It dragged the light out of me, inch by inch, until I could no longer tell if I was shaking from agony or from the emptiness that followed. I could hear the Hunter's voices, filled with happiness. “Keep going, it's working. It's working.” they told the witch but suddenly there was a pause in the room. My voice echoed, filling the room with a loud painful groan. Even as pain circulated my body, I was thankful that she stopped. “What happened? Are you done? Is her magic gone?” a Hunter asked
