Chapter 11

About an hour has passed after taking a shower and Nkosi was getting dressed in his uniform to go see Azaria before starting his patrol. Before he reached to Azaria's room, he sees Prince Alonza coming out her room giving her a soft peck on the cheek and proceed to go find his father so they can head back to Rose Thorn Kingdom. Azaria noticed that Nkosi was standing there and ran to him to give him a big hug.

"Nkosi, Heyyyy"

"Hey Azaria, do you have a minute? I need to talk to you about something important."

Azaria nodded and showed him to her room and closed the door behind them. Nkosi stared at Azaria raised an eyebrow and folded his arms with a scheming joke like smile on his face.

"What?" Azaria asked

"So, is there a reason why Prince Alonza was coming out your bedroom?"

"He was just comforting me is all nothing happened"

"Why do you care about what I do Nkosi?"

"I don’t care I was just curious is all"

"So, what brings you here?" Azaria asked.

Nkosi explained the proposition that Instructor Gail had extended to him. Azaria stared at Nkosi with a blank stare and was speechless because she was not ready for her best friend to leave her. Azaria just started to cry and Nkosi grabbed Azaria and held her close to his chest as she cries in his arms.

"Azaria what is wrong? Why are you crying?"

"I don’t want you to go, I need you. How can you just want to leave me with everything going on?"

"I haven’t chosen anything Azaria"

"Ok but you want to choose to leave"

"Only to learn how to better protect you Azaria."

"But you are doing a great job at protecting me"

Nkosi lets go of Azaria walking to the other side of the room then turns to face Azaria.

"I'm not Azaria, I was laid flat on my back with one hit which led to the Queen's and the baby's death. I can’t even help you control your powers." Nkosi yells which he has never done before with Azaria of all people.

"Do you not know or see how this affects me? I want to protect because...." Nkosi stops in mid-sentence.

Azaria walks over to Nkosi reaching for his hand. "Because what Nkosi?" Azaria asked wanting him to admit what she thinks could be the feelings that she feels for him he feels for her.

"Nothing Azaria it will never be. Anyways I came here to tell you I will protect you and for that to happen I must leave an order to do my job as your guardian" Nkosi takes his hand away from Azaria and walks out of her room leaving her in her thoughts and broken hearted a little bit.

Nkosi stood in the hallway just in ear shot of Azaria's room. Just standing there with feelings of regret runs through his heart.

But he shakes his head and slaps his to refocus and reminds himself that this is for the best and heads to his station to start his patrol shift.

The next day King Hashu summoned Naliyah and Azaria to his office. Once both arrived at their father's office they sat down and waited for him to speak.

"Daughters, I called you here because I have mission for girls that only you can handle." King Hashu informed.

"What is it that you need us to do daddy?" Naliyah asked.

“I need you two to go retrieve an ancient scroll from the pyramids of Egypt” the King explained.

“Why are you sending us to an old pyramid for some old scroll?” Naliyah asked while folding her arms.

“Naliyah! Seriously?” Azaria scolded.

“Listen to be honest I don’t care how you feel about its Naliyah but for one thing you will do it and that’s final” King Hashu demanded

The girls sat there silent because they know once their dad uses his King voice, we crossed the line and we either get a warning or we in deep trouble.

“Now we need to get some of the warriors to escort you two to the pyramids” King Hashu said while pondering on the best team to use.

While everyone throwing out idea’s prince Alonza barges into the King’s office offering his services. At first Azaria was against because this their problem not his but Alonza didn’t care he just wants to prove himself to his future bride that he can protect and support her. Part of him also want s to make up for not getting to the castle in time to help with the attack.

The king was hesitant to allow Prince Alonza to accompany the girls but eventually he agrees to his request to go. Azaria wasn’t too happy about the decision and abruptly left the office with the prince chasing after her.

“Azaria!” the prince yells as he is running her down to catch up. But she acts like she doesn’t hear him and keeps walking heading towards her room when Prince Alonza catches up with her grabs her wrist to have Azaria face him.

“What Alonza?!” Azaria asked with annoyance and frustrations.

“Why don’t you want me to go with you to the pyramids?” Alonza ask with confusion in his tone.

“Because it’s too dangerous!” Azaria responded with worry

“That’s B.S. and you know!” Alonza challenged

“Look I can’t afford to lose another person just so they can protect me. I lost my mom, my best friend left to go be a better protector, and now you want to go on this mission with me just to protect me it’s just too much and I can’t deal with anymore heart ache.” Azaria confessed

“Baby you are my future wife and Queen my job is to protect, lead, and support my queen like you support me. You have stop beating yourself up we all make choices, and no one is forcing us. We want to protect you like you do for your people because we care and love you.” Alonza reassured her.

“Ok” as she nods an agreement with Alonza.
